your relationship with levi is a complicated one. you respect each other as captains, but when it comes to tolerating each other you just can’t. you both have sour attitudes and it makes being in a room together almost impossible. to make matters worse you can never agree on anything. it infuriates erwin, but he insists on pairing you up until you can eventually work through your hatred. he claims that you sometimes have to work with enemies to achieve a greater goal. 

amongst other things you know there’s some unresolved sexual tension between you. it’s obvious how he will always stare at you and pick fights for no reason. you’re to blame, too. you like to get levi all riled up. you enjoy watching his nostrils flare when he’s had enough of your banter. and the bass in his voice when he would yell at you was sexy, you can’t deny it. 

even hange has had enough of your banter. you both follow the section commander to a spare office and are instructed that you’ll both be relieved of your duties until you can work together properly. with that the door closes. levi, being obsessed with his work, is desperate to fix the issue between you.

you walk through the large building with jean, armin, eren and mikasa. somehow all the people you were closest to had managed to enroll in the same class, humanities. while it was an elective for everyone else, it was a requirement for your major. 

you weren’t a teacher’s pet by any means, but you always made it a point to introduce yourself to your professors and be well acquainted with them. you tended to do well in school, always getting high marks for your work. the only person who might have been smarter than you was armin. not only was he a genius, he was also a tutor for almost every subject. 

eren and mikasa were attached at the hip. they had been dating since freshman year of college after years of ignoring their feelings for each other. it was painful to watch how they would give each other longing stares in high school. 

then there was jean. you met him your first week at university and have been inseparable since. while he was very protective over you he was a good guy and he seamlessly entered your group of friends. sometimes he can be too loud for his own good, like right now. he’s currently going off about how he isn’t excited for this class as you all take your seats in the front row.

“apparently he’s a hard ass”, jean says a little too loud. there were only students in the room so far, but it didn’t stop you from looking around as embarrassment filled you.

there had been a shared hate for professor ackerman throughout campus. some hated him because of his attitude. others hated him because he was a harsh grader. there was also talk about how handsome he was. you heard he was young, only 28. many girls had claimed he was an intense lover who broke their heart when he acted like they didn’t exist the next day. you didn’t know if that was true, but it made your stomach turn. you hoped you didn’t have a professor with a reputation like that.

there’s way too many titans to count. it’s abnormal for there to be this many coming to one small town between the walls. homes are destroyed, innocent civilians are being eaten alive everywhere you turn. the streets are coated with their blood. it’s the worst titan attack you’ve ever seen. far worse than shiganshina. these people don’t have a wall to protect them. they’re out in the open. they’re prey. and their predators are having a feast. 

your squad is working with levi’s, all trying your best to take down as many titans as you can. both groups have been handpicked by both you and levi. they’re the best of the best. you trust all of them to either slay dozens of titans or go down fighting. it’s clear you won’t be able to kill all of them, though. everyone is running low on fuel and blades. you don’t want to admit it, but if you don’t head back soon there aren’t going to be many scouts left. 

your blade, although dull, slices through a 4 meter titan’s nape as you jump from a rooftop. you’re a skilled scout, killing titans comes naturally to you. but you don’t have time to add a point to your mental list of total kills... bodies, debris and wood suddenly come flying in your direction.
