Bonus for fun:
if dubenich never brought the crew together, they would meet again at the boston museum of art when the dagger of aqu'abi is on display again. they are like, fuck yeah, take two at stealing that stupid thing. sophie at least knows the context because nate (who w/o leverage fell even deeper into addiction and only got out of his alcoholism on a whim when he reached out to sophie and things got rolling and they are together) told her. sophie and nate are flirting so they engage in pvp and plan against each other.
they basically run into rashomon 2.0, until they all collide which immediately expands the pvp to all five of them. over the course of the night, though, they really put together how much of an asshole the daggers current owner, nigel hayton, is. events snowball and they team up to take the oil baron down. and then they? keep in touch? and leverage again.

Leverage Season 3
Unoriginal thought of the day, a first words leverage ot3 soulmate au is especially fascinating when you think that the non-Nate crew all technically met for the first time during the roshamon job. So you've got an absolute cocktail of reasons that they wouldn't notice, or wouldn't do anything about, meeting their soulmates because they're all working. It would only be in hindsight that they would realize and try to piece it together and as we see their memory is fallible. Not to mention you've got three criminals assuming they're soumates with civilians, even if they did remember fresh off the job, it would be a liability. Then years later and you're sitting in a bar with people you connect with on a level you've never connected with anybody before; talking about the one job that got botched and listening to everyone speak, hearing these familiar moments, you realize that they were there to. How would they react, how closely to the chest do you play it when it's your turn to speak or as they're laying their story out for you.

The Rashomon Job is hands down the best episode and nobody can tell me otherwise.
Like, your gonna tell me all of these *professional criminals* can't recognize each other five years later? And each of their stories are somehow accurate to how they perceive each other- even without them noticing at first. I couldn't get over how Hardison, Nate, and Parker all have Eliot holding basically a sword to Hardison's throat. 🤣 Sophie and Nate's were the probably the most accurate.
The ending was so sweet too, because it's all a redo. Even though they had Sophie, Parker, and Hardison running to go steal it and leaving Eliot and Nate at the bar- the viewers still get the implication that they'll steal it as a team. Especially when you get that little amused smile/nod from Eliot and that confirmation from Nate.
Nate was practically telling Eliot- Go. Watch their backs. Then he went to because he didn't want to be left out.
Also- Parker's imitation of Sophie is how I think she processes everyone's voice. 😂🫣
