SWTOR-tober Day 6 - Attachment
wasn't sure who to draw for this one, so we're writing things out instead, maybe to add art later
In terms of attachments, most if not all of them have "problems" with it, but lets focus on the Force-sensitive ones as they're the ones we tend to see it affecting negatively most, the struggle between Light and Dark.
Arvecem and Ettiland continue to be parallels, both being very attached to their crews and friends.
-For Arvecem, he knows he shouldn't have all these attachments, the Jedi Code nagging at him to let them go...but he can't. All of his original crew, from friendly T7 to not-so-friendly Scourge, as well as many of the people he's met since, must be protected. In particular, he's terrified of losing Kira, and in extension what pain she'd have to endure should he vanish. (again)
-Ettiland meanwhile is learning to accept the losses after talking with Jedi like Satele and drifting away from being so "sith-y". He uses the lingering pain and emotion from events like Ziost to strengthen himself through his original training and attempt to prevent further losses, but the fear of the loss doesn't control his actions as much as before.
Trinnid and Rirwin, meanwhile, tend to be total opposites.
-Trinnid, similar to the other two, is very attached to his original crew. However, in his case that means one of his main concerns is also his own life and power. He doesn't tend to put himself in danger to protect others as much, but will if he feels he has to, such as the multiple attempts at strengthening himself enough to destroy Thanaton. On Rishi for the side quest, he gladly took the chance to extend his life, knowing it meant he could not only grow his power and continue discovering artifacts, but also protect those he cared and have them protect himself in kind.
-Rirwin. As prime of an example of a Jedi as they are, even they struggle with it. Overall, they tend to be unafraid of losing people or things, accepting the loss even if it stings. Aside from protecting the Jedi from the plague and redeeming Vivicar, this avoidance of attachments unfortunately did not apply to Syo Bakarn. They were desperate to redeem him, and even after succeeding it hurt to be given his seat on the council instead of Syo returning. Years later, Rirwin understands better and it hurts less, but they still think they could have done more somehow.
