when you're going about your day but then you suddenly remember "i... i..." "i know"
fellas is it gay to sneak into an exclusive event through an actual window just for a chance to see your old crush lieutenant and then have a heart attack and use your last breath to say his name before dying holding his hand?? asking for a friend
the ghosts are stronger than me because if cap had confessed to me about his tragic forbidden love and traumatising death the only line i'd be dancing to is the line to the therapist's office
"i... i... i..."
"i know"
[CAR CRASH] [GLASS SHATTERING] ‘GOOD LORD!’ [GENERAL COMMOTION] [BABY CRYING] ‘WAAAAH WAAAAH’ [YELLING] [POLICE SIRENS] WEEWOO WEEWOO [HELICOPTERS] ‘WE’RE REPORTING LIVE-‘ [EXPLOSION] ‘MY LEG!!! MY LEG!!!'
no i'm not crying over bbc ghosts s5e5,, i'm sobbing :)
I actually about to go insane!!!!! Upon rewatching the “I say, Havers” scene; I noticed that before he says the line about the operation, the Captain rapidly blinks and subtly shakes his head
The Captain actively thought about confessing to Havers, but he decided against it at the last moment. He was this close to saying something, and we can see those thoughts running through his head, but we can also see him repressing those thoughts
I… I need to lay down…
the entire captain/lieutenant havers saga btw. just in case you needed it.
y'know what? fuck this, fuck you *unweddys your redding*
I’m rewatching Reddy Wedding, and when Captain first talks about the bomb it made me think.
After he talks about the war being over, the ‘don’t dig’ feels more personal, he sounds scared, worried. He doesn’t want her to physically dig but he also doesn’t want her to personally dig. He doesn’t want to think about his feelings, he doesn’t want to remember the day Havers left him.
And we know it relates to love because when Fanny talks to him about love, he tells to bury those feelings. Like he did.
Head canon that during the war The Captain would play music in his office (quite loudly) while making tactical plans so that the other soldiers couldnt hear any new developments when passing by-
This had been going on for a while, The Captain, Lieutenant Havers and a small handful of others spending hours in the caps office making important arrangements while Kitty Kallen or Sinatra played on vinyl… One night Cap invites Havers in, puts on the same vinyl but instead of intensive planning- they just dance.. hand in hand all night, holding each other close and yet no one suspects a thing.
“I shall miss you, Havers.”
