I haven’t used Twitter in months but is Bluesky like, legit? Or is it just gonna be another Threads? People migrate, the site dies, they run back to twitter (for whatever reason. Then again, people with the absolute worst pay ever defend their bosses, poor people defend billionaires)

I was in severe pain today and I was thinking “life is suffering. is there anything even remotely exciting in life anymore?” Tbf the good never outweighs the bad, but I haven’t felt excitement since EKT was found. I like lostwave because it gives me CHILDLIKE WONDER.
Am I overreacting? Well, no, I’m sitting here with a straight face. But internally I’m overwhelmed.

I have a huge vet bill to pay. Mochi, our ex-feral, started showing signs of tooth pain and wasn't eating much. I took him to the vet where it was discovered he was severely anemic, and positive for FIV and feline leukemia. The vet said she'd never seen a cat with those numbers still walking around. By the time we had the results (a matter of a day) his condition had declined to the point there was no option but to euthanize him. And then we had to get the other three cats tested for FeLV, because while there were no fights and therefore almost no chance of FIV, they did share food and water bowls and litter boxes. Thankfully the other three cats have tested negative, but there is still a bill of over $1000, and a lot of broken hearts.
I'm running a sale to pay as much of the bill as I can. It runs til November 9th, I may extend it if I can manage the work load but I can't guarantee it will be extended.

Cats in China are being brutally tortured and killed maliciously by various groups of people around - young people, ones who should know better.
They adopt cats and then murder them, often putting them through hell beforehand. Doing things such as chopping off all their limbs and hanging them up as “cat bugs”, skinning them alive, putting them in blenders, and many, many other cruel things.
It’s due to the lack of animal protection rights in China is why these people can get away with these things so easily.
They use live footage of cats eating from local feeders in order to capture them, and they’ve already gotten over millions of innocent felines - one of which was a kitten known as Mr. Wink, who was found frozen solid after one of them had drowned him.
These people also go about live streaming footage of themselves torturing and killing kitties that’ve done NOTHING WRONG for views, money and fun. And they gain more and more followers and views everyday.
This shit is not okay at all. They are still out there targeting these creatures, and even had set up a bounty to both find and kill Mr. Fresh (orange cat shown from a live feeder famous for his “side eye”), the money ranging from about $500-600.
Although Mr. Fresh is thankfully safe and in the care of a vet/new guardian. However, there are still many other animals, not just cats themselves, being tortured in China.
I highly recommend visiting and following @feline_guardians on Instagram and to sign their petition for animals to gain more rights in China.

Those are the main three lol. The last one is very unorganised and 4 years worth of music (plus, I used to just add every song I heard to it) but my main playlist is the first one, but also the second one.
Okay I don’t like being ~controversial~ on main, but this shouldn’t be controversial, this should be common sense.
Saying that you can’t be Xphobic because you are X is such an illogical argument that I cannot believe anyone genuinely believes it. It’s a shield from criticism. The fact I even have to explain why that’s not how it works is… absurd.
First of all, let’s get semantical debates aside. Xphobia, for all intents and purposes, refers to the hatred or apprehension of a certain group. (“X” standing for any marginalised group.)
The claim being made here is that because someone is a part of that group, hating that group would mean they hate themselves, which isn’t “possible.” Here’s the thing, though, cognitive dissonance exists, and you can hate parts of yourself or yourself while being that thing. Not only that, but you can hate parts of a group without hating your particular “part” of a group.
This is basic logic. Even if you want to believe that you can’t BE Xphobic (someone with genuinely Xphobic beliefs) you can still call someone Xphobic if their ACTIONS are Xphobic or they are doing Xphobic things. It’s genuinely just a distraction from criticism and I have to assume people who make arguments like that know they’re wrong, but have this rigid, closed-minded worldview to shield themselves from criticism.
Bigotry isn’t a straightforward thing where someone wakes up one day and is like “you know what? fuck x group!” It can be a variety of things, and rarely is someone consciously choosing to hate a group of people just for existing, wanting them gone. It’s usually more nuanced than that, and they aren’t fully aware of their hatreds. How many times have you seen a nazi self-proclaim to be a nazi in earnest truth? (Not edgy trolling, they do that a lot.) Often times, they’ll claim nazi has no meaning, that they’re a “race realist.”
How many times have you seen a racist call themselves a racist, in earnest truth? How many times have you heard someone call themselves transphobic, in earnest truth? They don’t, again, unless they’re trolling, or so deep into their hatred that they have a “yes, I do hate X group, but it’s justified!” mask-off outlook.
I feel like this is common sense. I’m baffled that people proclaim this. You don’t get to use your status as a minority as an excuse.

it’s rare that I listen to an album & like every song, but In My Bones (Baby Bugs) is the exception.
