London adventures, part 1

One of the greatest things about tumblr is meeting people from all over the world. I've been part of this website for 5 years and in that time I've talked, met people and made many friends from, literally, all over the world, from Australia, to South Africa, to Canada, Mexico, Russia and Korea (just to name a few places). They're people who are similar to you in a lot of ways, but at the same time the difference is huge, way bigger than with friends back home. It's not anymore about the small difference between what you eat for christmas or your christmas traditions, it's that you celebrate christmas at different days, or not at all.

And one of the best things about those kind of friends is that you have a house there, wherever they live. I'm not here to talk about ~~online~~ friends, well, yes, in a way.

The thing is I met Mez about... 2 or 3 years ago. Mez is from England, so obviously when I told her I was coming here to be an au pair, she was excited. Sure, we would be in different sides of the country, but we started planning when to meet. And that's how after landing back to England after a weekend in Madrid (that was amazing, by the way), I took a train to her house, where I was gonna spend 5 days. Mez lives about 40 minutes-1 hour from London.
