my boss ‘forgot’ to tell me there was a snake loose in the shop today & it was just me and a 15yr old work experience girl who ran up to me as i was processing a delivery like “THERE IS A SNAKE. UPSTAIRS.” and i was like “There are many snakes upstairs”
“NO THIS ONE IS ON THE FLOOR”
So after catching a very stressed out and strikey 4ft royal python i called my boss like “well, we found a snake”
“Oh, I forgot about that.”
“You… forgot?” i say as this snake constricts my hand and weaves into my hair
“Well I was taking photos and I realized he needed a bath. So i went downstairs to run him a bath. But i forgot to close him first”
“… How long ago was this”
“About a week ago”
So thats it children, my boss forgot to inform us he lost a snake. Though this is the same guy who misplaced a 3ft bosc monitor whilst blinking one time (we still havent found it rip) and once was saying “look at this cute crestie” as it proceeded to jump off of his hand and disappear forever

I know I call him a bug but he’s not just a bug, he’s my pet. He’s also not that tiny.
Ive raised this lil guy since he was L4, around 40 days old, and he’s going to die way before his time because he somehow injured himself in his enclosure whilst I was at work yesterday, so I was expecting around 3-6 months more with him, but now he may not even live to this time next week.
I’m not cut up over it, I care that he’s going to die but it wont have me in tears because at the end of the day he is a pet who only lives around a year and one whose species has a notoriously bad molting history so I’m always subconciously prepared for him or Malia (our Orchid Mantis) to be dead everytime I do their morning and evening checks.
He’s my pet, and thats why I care.
Bash had a lovely day out today, came with us to return a dash cam, had a walk around B&M and took a walk into town with me 😊 just glad he waited until we got home to poop 😂
After almost a whole week of being insanely ill, I’m finally starting to perk up 😄
me: trying to work corn snake: gettin all up in my face, making it 10x harder to clean it out.
It just wanted more time out and about 😂
He gets so heavy when he goes to sleep ❤❤❤
