Godard loses his glasses and Truffaut takes a spill during the chaos of the abortive screening of Peppermint Frappé at the 1968 Cannes Film Festival. Peppermint Frappé director Carlos Saura and star Geraldine Chaplin were among those trying to prevent the screening as part of the ongoing efforts to shut down the festival.
(Godard is clearly the Velma of the Nouvelle Vague.)

"What was interesting was the contrast between François and Léaud, who was wild and really in his element. We had to run after him. He’d go off on a jaunt. We’d find him in all the bars. He was feeling very much like a star. He’s changed a lot since then. He’s come back down to earth, back to reality […] Now he’s in his shy period, but in those days he wasn’t shy at all. François was the shy one. Fortunately he had Cocteau to push and introduce him. Cocteau did all the work. He set up everything for François."
