Submission: Embry’s father

I’ve thought about this quite a lot, even though Smeyer hasn’t, and I think Embry’s father is Billy Black. Now hear me out! Smeyer is big on punishment. Examples are Rosalie and Leah Clearwater. Leah strikes me as more obvious. She was engaged to Sam. I get the impression she and Sam were “intimate.” Oh, no! Premarital sex! Leah is punished by her fiancé dumping her. Then she’s punished by having her best friend/cousin taken away. Next, she phases, her father has a heart attack and dies, and then she’s punished by being an outcast in the only group she can be a part of anymore. The wolf boys treat her like crap. And THEN what’s the worst thing that can happen to her? She can’t have babies. It’s the end of the F-ing world.

Rosalie. Beautiful, sought after. Men noticed her when she was TWELVE, for crying out loud. She knew she was beautiful and all she wanted was the house, the servants, and babies of her own to love. Her parents throw her at Royce. Whirlwind romance. Vain, shallow Rosalie is in love with love. Caught herself a wealthy young man. She’s a little jealous of her friend Vera. Does a dumb thing by walking home alone at night. Is gang raped. Oh, shit. What happens? Rosalie is cursed for eternity because she was blonde, and pretty, and wanted by all the men, was de-virginized horrifically, and what’s even worse? SHE CAN NEVER HAVE BABIES OF HER OWN!

Seems I recall Smeyer saying something about not liking blonde females so much.

Then there’s Billy Black. He did *something* bad. His wife was killed, leaving him with three children to raise. His daughters left him and didn’t look back. (He couldn’t control his female children and keep them in the fold). His son is “cursed” by turning into a wolf. He ends up in a wheel chair. He never remarried. He did something bad to get all that bad karma raining down on him.

 Might be kind of simplistic, but that’s where I’m coming from.

Very interesting theory! It would have never occurred to me to see a parallel between Billy, Rosalie, and Leah’s storylines. I also like the theme with Billy about the Past coming back and haunting him in the present. Arguably he would deserve karma more than Leah and Rosalie? It would be a compelling narrative.

Billy: Here’s how I try to look at it, and this is just me, this thing being out there, it’s like there are Vampires loose in the Highschool. There are vampires loose in the Highschool. I think eventually everything’s going to be okay, but I have no idea what’s going  to happen next, and neither do any of you, and neither do your parents, because there are Vampires loose in the Highschool. It’s never happened before, no one knows what the Vampires are going to do next, least of all the vampires. We’ve never seen them in a Highschool before, they’re as confused as you are. There’s no experts.
They try to find experts in La Push. They’re like, “We’re joined now by a man that once saw an bear in the forest.” Get out of here with that shit! We’ve all seen a bear in a forest. These are vampires loose in the Highschool .
When Vampires are loose in the Highschool, you got to stay updated. So all day long you walk around, “What’d the Vampires do?” The updates, they’re not always bad. Sometimes they’re just odd. It’ll be like, “The Vampires are having lunch with Charlie’s daughter?”
I didn’t know they knew how to do that. The creepiest days are when you don’t hear from the Vampires at all. You’re down at then beach like, “Hey, has anyone heard-” Those are those quiet days when people are like, “It looks like the Vampires have finally calmed down.” And then ten seconds later the Vampires are like, “We’re gonna cause a seven car pile up and set a ballet studio on fire. We’ve got a sharp teeth and marble skin, We’re vampires!” That’s what I thought you’d say, you dumb fucking vampires!
Then you go to brunch with people and they’re like, “There shouldn’t be Vampires in the Highschool.” And it’s like, “We’re well past that.” Then other people are like, “If there’s gonna be Vampries in the Highschool, I’m going to jump off a cliff.” And those don’t match up at all.
And then, for a second, we were like, “Maybe the werewolves will stop the vampires?.” And then the Vampires are like, “I have made a treaty with the werewolves.” It can do that? That shouldn’t be allowed no matter who the vampires are.

tysm for the tag @leahclearwaterdefensesquad! ok so I had this drafted for a lil while but here’s my take on the pack and co. on social media:

  • sam doesn’t care for social media that much but he has facebook to keep up w family. but! he’s good with a phone camera so he helps emily film her baking and beading tutorials for youtube and tiktok. he knows how to get all the right angles because he’s helped her film a lot
  • jacob regularly uses his personal instagram to look at car shit and meme pages. he posts a good amount of car content and every now and then, a pic of him and the boys. he also has a business account for his handcrafted figurines and other products that he carves himself
  • leah is the pack’s twitter connoisseur and clapback queen. she has ~14k followers and isn’t even a stan account. she doesn’t know where they all came from since all she does is speak the truth, but she enjoys her followers. she has several reaction videos on hand. a few female rappers follow her back btw
  • tiktok was 100% made for seth. as a tiktok heartthrob, he has the highest social media following out of the entire pack. participates in viral dance trends and often records himself doing stunts. quil, jared, and paul join him for dance videos sometimes and embry records them. seth tried to have the whole pack so the body challenge with him but once the third “-ody” hit sam’s knee popped and they had to stop :/
  • also there’s been some giant wolves in the far background of a couple of seth’s tiktoks but the majority of his followers haven’t caught on yet and it would be sus if he just deleted them
  • jared and quil run a prank channel on youtube - they frequently play pranks on paul, sam, and jacob, and they also have a healthy 10k subscribers (they were on the planking wave before it was cool btw and quil makes sure to let EVERYBODY know)
  • jared’s been in his youtube bag so he runs a couples account with kim, a beauty guru in her spare time. they play those cute “how well do you we know each other?” games and he’s narrated her makeup tutorials before. they plan to do a vlog of their vacation to disneyland once the pandemic ends
  • now embry? he stays on reddit because he loves the AITA and askreddit subreddits. he’s also big on video games so he streams on twitch in his spare time. sometimes quil joins him. embry also used to be on tumblr back in like 2012 and only logged back in this year to see the reactions to the supernatural finale
  • paul is the pack hot boy so you know he’s gotta build up his brand. he’s everywhere — twitter, insta, tiktok, youtube, linkedin, you name it. he’s on his way to becoming a full-time influencer. he begs leah to retweet his twitter jokes every now and then and makes sure to get in on a tiktok dance with seth if he can. he also posts his gf rachel a lot
  • billy stays on facebook laughing it up to sue and charlie’s posts. “ha-ha” reactions all around. he’s proud of all the big fish he catches and makes sure to post them every time. jacob tried to get him set up with instagram but billy doesn’t care to use it since all his friends are on facebook
  • sue has 1000 facebook friends and loves sharing seth’s tiktoks to her page (she doesn’t know leah is mildly popular on twitter and it’s probably for the best since all leah does is talk shit). she made an instagram account and leah taught her how to make a boomerang — it’s her favorite feature of all time
