I hope everyone’s 2022 has been going well, and I’m sorry for the silence in the past few months–irl has caught up with me with a vengeance for a bit there, but we’re making things work.
Anyway, in light of a relatively recent update from Aly (that I totally forgot to post about here, oops, sorry) and the fact that it’s been quite a few months since we last had an event, I thought we could have another 7KPP Week, especially since our last one was way back in 2019. So, without further ado, another 7KPP Appreciation Week!

7KPP Week - Day 4 - Letters
So, my original plans for day 4 (already late) have been foiled by alpha spoilers. I have a replacement plan, but it requires audience participation. Fandom, meet me halfway.
I’ve assigned random numbers to a list of my MCs and a list of delegate NPCs. Send me an ask with two numbers (1-10 and 1-12) and I’ll write a brief correspondence between the two numbered characters.
Offer open until the 12th, inclusive, since I started late. Feel free to reblog.

This is the end of a dalliance Sabine had with writer Jan Allard right before leaving for the Summit. (He’s mentioned from this a while ago, and this from day 2 of this year (8 ) Warning for nudity. I guess.

“Maybe she dresses well, but she lives across the river,” and “He smells as if he woke up on the wrong side of the banks,”– such statements are not infrequent in Revaire’s capital, and are quite telling about the flavor and structure of the city’s society. The north-western sectors were rich, ranging around the royal compound and the high-flying white stone palace of the Crown. The wealthiest merchants, the diplomatic corps, the city estates of the nobility and so forth clustered to the more inland side of the broad river splitting the city. The other side of the river was dotted with tributaries and siltlands that eventually trickled off into the coast.
The wetness of the land invariably made construction difficult, and led to unpleasant aspects like foul smells during summer and endless mucky streets during winter and fall. And these unpleasant aspects invariably led to the shuffling off of the lower classes onto the low southern banks of the river.
This is simply delightful. The voice is so extremely Revaire!MC and it's so on point. I love that it combines the funny, and the drama, and just a dash on politics. And I am selfishly glad that Allegra isn't the only widow who left behind a chain of broken hearts in Revaire (even if she was much less nice about it). I just adore Sabine.

Okay, I’m super behind and not terribly inspired right now, so if I complete #7kppweek I’ll be doing the last three entries tomorrow morning.
I really hope I don’t get creatively tapped out, because I’ve been looking forward to all of them. It’s just that I’ve got a lot going on right now.

Cordelia would never be so vulgar as to yawn, but it seemed Emmett and Clarmont were not above cracking their jaws against the winding down hours. And even Cordelia looked a little slack around the cheeks, and she blinked rapidly, turning her lashes into fluttering butterflies struggling to prop her eyes open.
Clarmont threw his hand down on the card table with a rueful smile. “If I had any idea how quickly I would be bankrupted at the Summit, I might have stayed home.”
Cordelia let the gentlemen push her winning toward her with a small smile. It wouldn’t do, after all, for a lady to scrabble and stretch across a table.
I just love the idea of Cordelia kicking everyone's ass at cards and making a small fortune. It's so delightfully on brand.
