Gaybian refers to someone who identifies as both gay and lesbian in some way. Some of the reasons why someone may identify include:
- Feeling as though attraction to both men (or non-women) and women (or non-men) is queer
- Being multigender or genderfluid and being attracted to men in an achillean/gay way, or as a non-woman, and women in a sapphic/lesbian way, or as a non-man
- Experiencing split attraction that is lesbian and gay, for example, sexually attracted to non-men, and romantically attracted to non-women
