Ah, yes, writing a Strahd but Drizzt Kimmuriel POV scene, aka "the emotions know where Kimmuriel live and keep screaming in his ears and he wants it to stop"
When i move to a new section of the game i end up redistributing items to the characters and I do it by character hence why most of my drow characters and their stand-ins have drow poison.
But truly amusing is that whenever Maya and Dinin are in the party I give them all the illithid items with the subtle implication that Maya and Dinin spent the entire run on the ship pocketing anything they thought they could later use as a projectile

Artemis' dagger is stolen, and he meets an unfamiliar yet familiar face.
tfw you just want to sleep and a fox stole your ultra cursed fucking dagger and wants you to chase her.
Bonus: it takes you the whole fucking chase to realize the fox isn't just a random wild animal but someone's fucking pet.

The more I work on the therapy fic the more I really wanna write Zak facing the perils of the surface world while Nalfein follows behind him trying to explain that he doesn't mean any harm he just doesn't speak Common.
Sparing Minthara has been a back and forth for me overall, but right now the biggest question is whether or not giant paladin lady is a big enough draw when the deterrent is her younger siblings pulling shit like this:
To be clear they're doing it to intimidate Minthara, this is a threat.

I've been toying with another idea of my drow druid PC from Icewind Dale, Xan, meeting Drizzt circa sometime during Sojourn and I was partially wondering why the Ten Towns would still be less welcoming to Drizzt if Xan, another drow, was one of their heroes only 70 years prior and is still living nearby. Here's what I concluded:
- Drizzt and Xan are not the same person, and Xan is an obvious outlier. As confirmed by the other heroes of Icewind Dale, Xan describes himself as an outcast from drow society.
- Xan might have saved them but he is not exactly a social person. As should be noted Xan lives near the Ten Towns but he's not living in them.
- Xan is not friendly. Catti has never seen him despite having gone out looking for him twice, and the townsfolk nearest to him are more likely to see him wildshaped than see him walking around normally.
- Not everyone's actually all that okay with Xan living nearby considering he throws rocks at people hunting the nearby wolf pack if they approach his territory, shoots at them if they walk on regardless, and kills them if they manage to harm any member of the pack. More than a few townsfolk definitely consider him an existing menace.
So yeah the Ten Towns understandably is not exactly psyched to see another drow walking up to their town when they already have one and he's an unfriendly, elusive, feral git.
If you're reading point 4 and thinking "Why don't the people of the Ten Towns simply stop following the pack into Xan's territory? He's clearly giving warnings." Yeah the speakers keep telling people to stop hunting that specific pack of wolves because Xan literally hunts with them but people keep assuming that the tiny drow chucking rocks at them won't be a problem until he becomes a problem.

Honestly a resurrection reunion between Nalfein and the others would be 100% on Cerridwen's terms.
Nalfein is unavoidably in Luskan trying to avoid any drow but Cerridwen can smell the nice tall drow that gave her eggs and why won't Nalfein just follow her to the nice tall drow that gives her eggs? Look he has a smaller drow with him, he might also give her eggs.
Meanwhile Nalfein's very certain Zak is going to kill him if he gets close enough.
-walks in- Oneshot where Artemis discovers he is not immune to "Cerridwen wants your hat and you have to chase her to get it back and no one is going to help you."
For the record I think Artemis is skeptical of the fox but is eventually like "Okay, other than the occasional weird behavior and occasional obedience this is just a normal fucking fox. Accepted."

Random Sailor: Literally Artemis Entreri™
Sometimes I kinda float through my work in the Death House with an internal monologue of "Kimmuriel is a little out of character here" but then I remember Kimmuriel is currently hearing a constant loop of insults, chanting, and screaming, has not slept in the last 24 hours because that constant loop is too loud, the constant loop had deafened him at least once, and he has a broken leg.
Yeah, Kimmuriel is currently in a state of constant pain, exhaustion, and stress, I don't think he's keeping as tight a hold on his emotions as usual.
