gethenian chromosomes.... fucked up man..... beyond the classic sex chromosomes.... patterns of inheritance for mitochondrial dna would be so wacky compared to maternal-only inheritance (well its still maternal but you know what i mean. the same individual can be paternal or maternal, so there is no easily traceable single lineage). also absolutely no sexual conflict (evolutionarily speaking) has such weird implications for fertility and shit. speaking of they'd probably have molecular mechanisms for preventing selfing. am i academically capable of writing an essay on this? yes. should i? that's another question
