I know, Ethan Chase is angsty.

He got kidnapped and held captive by a King from another world with powers beyond his understanding when he was only four years old.
His sister that he depended on and trusted more than anyone abandoned him to live her Happily Ever After.
Because of that, his mother always missed her.
And his father, Luke, had no idea what was going on.
Melissa Chase were too busy mourning her daughter and being paranoid to take care of him properly.
Meghan only visited few times. And there were year gaps between those visits.
Ethan and his family had to move all the time.
He started in new schools over and over again.
He had the Sight and he (and his mother) was constantly paranoid that the Fey would found them.
He was taunted and bullied.
He never got any proper friends.
And when he did she got taken away by the Fey.
His sister kept getting herself and him in trouble.
The Call of The Forgotten series happened.
He almost died. Multiple times.
