I noticed that a lot of artists “fix” Adam Driver’s nose when drawing him as Kylo Ren.

But I love his crooked nose! I really do!

It’s like Ewan Mcgregor’s moles. They’re supposed to be physical defects, but they make them even more charming and unique!

Adam’s look is so unique, why fix what isn’t broken

…..his nose isn’t even crooked tho?? It’s perfectly straight going down, he’s just got a boxer’s bridge… There’s literally no defect to begin with.  It’s his JAW thats actually a little slanted to one side. XD

THANK YOUUUUUUU. He does not have a crooked or hook nose. And in some angles it does look very straight. Please trust artists that we are studying the features as much as we can, and that ALSO we adjust according to style sometimes.

Of all of his ‘imperfections’ …… He’s got a long face, his jaw is slanted, his mouth is wide with full lips, he’s got a heavy brow with deep set eyes, he’s got so many beauty marks it’s like a splattering of ink spots on his face, his smile’s crooked and charming as hell and of course there are his ears. He can work all these little features that some people would consider an odd combination. But for some reason his nose is always the one feature that people point out when there’s literally nothing off about it. The only comment i can make about it is that it’s long, haha. But it’s proportionate to his face. :D

imagine getting famous and going online and seeing people thoroughly analyzing your facial features and arguing about which your flaws exist

Sorry man, as an artist i’m always going to come off sounding kinda creepy because looking and analyzing people’s faces is what I do. I observe, I sketch, I memorize how people’s face are built, what features set people apart from one another and how their expressions work. This isn’t exclusive to Adam, I do that to everyone, even myself. XD

As an artist myself… Adam’s face is quite hard to draw. Most of the time, we are not fixing, we are just getting his nose wrong.

@ksart-things @jediwhinetrick @frozenmusings @sibery and all the artists who draw Adam, I hope you know that I didn't intend to criticize your work when I wrote this, righ?

I just wanted to comment on the fact that sometimes, we "idealize" some of the actors we admire. I saw works (not just on Tumblr) that made Adam's face look perfectly symetrical and it made me think that the artists wanted to make him fit into a beauty standard that doesn't apply to him at all!

I love Adam Driver's face! The first time I saw him, I was shocked by how different he was from the young actors I usually see. It was refreshing to see someone so unconventional and so indeniably charming.

I said "crooked" nose, but maybe it is not a good description. I have a what I call a crooked nose, actually (a lot of Arab women do!)! Maybe that's why I want people to accept them XD

Anyhow, I really hope I didn't offend anybody! It is never my intention, my friends. I am sorry if you felt I was criticizing your art.

@sibery and @ksart-things , I draw a bit, but just for fun. I am not nearly as talented as you are, but I understand very well what you mean. I don't think your work suffers from oversimplification, on the contrary! An artist has to make choices when recreating the image of a character or an object and still manage to invoke their particularities. I don't believe you have to overload a work with details to make it more striking! Just to tell you, I love abstract art. I love the faculty of some artists to use the minimal amount of detail to invoke a form of a movement (don't get me started! I could write about Matisse for a long, long time!).

I am certain a lot of Tumblr users would agree that we have great, hugely talented artists on Tumblr and specifically in the Reylo community. What I said about Adam's nose was not the result of one single work or artist's body of work. I just noticed a general tendancy on the internet to...how do I put this?...clean up Adam's looks? Like they do with the portraits on magazine covers! I hate that!

Well, let me just reiterate: I love you guys, you are awesome artists and fans! And Adam is just an odd beautiful something that we have never seen before and he is awesome and talented and I want him to work with every single director he loves (cause that's what he wants) and to have an oscar at least (cause that's what he deserves) and I want him to open the door to other unconventionly looking actors with great talent!!!

P.s. this probably has a lot of spelling mistakes! It's 3h45, I have insomnia and English is not my first language! Sorray!

Adam Driver Joins Spike Lee’s ‘Black Klansman’

EXCLUSIVE: Adam Driver has boarded Spike Lee’s Black Klansman which the filmmaker is producing with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, QC Entertainment and Blumhouse. Focus Features is releasing.
Driver will play Flip, a Jewish undercover police officer who is the best of the Colorado Springs police force. He’s already had many years of experience and is a quick study. He is known on the force for being anti-social, and he’s a perfectionist, critical of others’ mistakes, but brave and dedicated.
Lee is producing and directing Black Klansman which tells the story of Ron Stallworth, a detective in Colorado Springs, Colo., who dared to challenge the Ku Klux Klan and thwart its attempts to take over the city. Police Detective Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) was at the center of an undercover investigation that reached the heights of the organization. Stallworth miraculously gained status in their ranks – the shocking fact in this incredible story is Stallworth is an African American man.
Driver, who next appears in Disney’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is repped by The Gersh Agency. Driver is a three-time Emmy award nominee for his turn in HBO’s Girls and he received the Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival for his turn in the feature Hungry Hearts. Driver was also awarded best actor last year from the Toronto International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association for his turn in Jim Jarmusch’s Paterson. 
Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Spike Lee and Kevin Willmont adapted Black Klansman from Stallworth’s autobiography. Pic is produced by Sean McKittrick, Raymond Mansfield, Shaun Redick, Jason Blum, Jordan Peele and Spike Lee.  QC’s Edward H. Hamm Jr. will serve as Executive Producer.  Focus President of Production Josh McLaughlin will supervise the project for the company. QC Entertainment have been developing the screenplay and project over the last two years.
Universal/Blumhouse and QC had enormous success earlier this year with Get Out which was a $253M global B.O. sensation off a $4.5M budget. The pic looks to be a serious awards contender this season already earning four Gotham Award noms including best picture and director for Peele. Focus Features as well has serious contenders on hand including Darkest Hour, Victoria and Abdul and The Beguiled. So, a serious confluence of labels here on Black Klansman. 
Laura Harrier of Spider-Man: Homecoming has also joined the cast of Black Klansman. Harrier is repped by ICM, and Soffer/Namoff Entertainment and Peikoff Mahan.

Another great Director on Adam’s resume! 

I really believe that Adam Driver is a true cinema lover. He chooses such ambitious and diverse projects directed by such fantastic filmmakers. I mean, he already has Jarmusch, Scorcese, Gilliam, Baumbach, Nichols, Soderbergh and now Lee... They are directors that I truly love! And I can only guess they are eager to work with him too as he is such a dedicated and talented actor. 

Can you tell I really admire him?
