#you know i think it’s kind of telling #that his first experience with the upside down #is because he chooses to go to rescue someone #fights flying monsters that are a bit like small dragons #sees magic and is the first to have the knowledge to use it to save them #travels with an adventuring party to get to the magic portal #that eventually takes them home again #and then chooses again to go back into that portal #and fight the boss with his adventuring party #after having restocked and gotten better weapons and leveled up with their XP
