What Izzy needs isn’t anything romantic. He needs community. He needs family. He needs his crew.
I really hope they don’t introduce a love interest in any form and I hope he heals from his unrequited love for ed.
Headcanon(?): Izzy becomes the captain for the revenge after ed and stede retire from piracy to run a restaurant/gift shop/inn. 👉👈

The fact that the entire crew lied to Stede at some point to take the blame for Ed’s actions because they knew that hearing just how severly he traumatized him would have scared him off (not as in being scared of Ed, but as in being scared that he has hurt Ed so much that he would rather run away once more as to not cause any more suffering than to face him and actually fight for him) and they couldn’t let that happen because everyone who has been near Blackbeard in the last few months knows that the only way to help this man, the only way to temporarily and after some work even permanently fix his deep rooted turmoil is Stede fucking Bonnet.
Still thinking about the fact that Izzy hands canonically slapped Stede Bonnet‘s ass.

You know the thing that I really wanna know about season 2?
What. Changed. Izzy?
He was so happy, even manic when Ed shut down and became Blackbeard again, so to now see him in the trailer, with a defeated, sad look on his face teaching Stede how to be a proper pirate, I can‘t help but wonder: at what point did he realize that Ed was not happy as Blackbeard? At what point did he think „So you really are here to stay, huh, Bonnet? Might as well teach you not to die immediatly, then“. I mean of course the Izzy&Stede scenes could also happen after Ed&Stede are already reunited and officially dating, so Izzy has no other choice other then helping him… but even then: what made him ultimately realize that no matter how hard he tried, Edward was miserable without Stede and that it wasn‘t just a crush or a fling but in fact love?
Because remember, he said, „I don‘t take orders from Edward, Blackbeard is my captain“
So thinking about the moment that Izzy has to accept Edward as his captain has me rolling in my grave.

Remember when you all tried to convince me that the reason was something irrelevant like „well he didn‘t want to lose another toe 🤪“?
How do you feel now after watching the trailer and hearing IZZY of all people say the „piracy is about belonging to something“ and clearly training Stede before he even reunited with Ed?
Izzy is growing, Izzy is learning and as much as he still thinks Stede is utterly incompetent he seems to have clearly realized (EVEN BEFORE ED HIMSELF, at least actively and not just subconsciously) that Ed needs Stede and that the absence of him is worse than tolerating his presence.
„Piracy is about belonging to something“ sounds like he is now part of their chosen family. He has made peace with his own feelings and those of Edward and has found a niché for himself in their new crew.
He‘s still a little bitch boy, but now he is our little bitch boy and I‘m so proud of him <3
The last thing I the world I want is to get into fandom drama, but I genuinely need to ask because I'm worried about The Youths:

Because while a bitchy little bastard, never once did I read Izzy's actions as homophobic in the show? That just clearly wasn't the place his animosity was rooted?? And one little "Izzy invented homophobia just to internalize it" joke was haha funny, but it never stopped and I'm so confused as to how people genuinely think it
Like I'm not saying he was correct. I don't think I've ever seen an Izzy fan say that. But it never came from a place of hating gay people what the fuck
homophobia is more than a character looking into the camera like they’re on the office and saying ‘i hate gay people’
izzy’s actions in ep10 come from a place of homophobia. he threatens to kill ed bc by pining for stede, he is not performing masculinity correctly in izzy’s eyes. izzy demonstrably has a problem with gay men and an even bigger problem with femme gay men.
sure, it’s not as explicit as some depictions of homophobia in other shows. but it’s very much there

I just wanna know what in the world Ed did to convince Izzy to go along with the emo make up as well.
Like, Jim’s reason for doing it? Easy, gender euphoria. So, very much believable!
Frenchie and Fang? They are just silly bitches and obviously enjoy the idea of “tough war paint”
But what on god’s green earth did Edward Teach say to convince Izzy "the homophobic homo” Hands to be like “yeah sure I could use some black eyeshadow as well”
It took me like an hour to make this. Do I regret it? Absolutely not.
Final episode of ofmd season 2 but it‘s just 30 minutes of Ed and Stede giggling like teenage girls and teasing and kissing each other until they run out of air while the crew teaches the rat (Izzy) how to survive being in the friendzone.

I still can’t get over the fact that this season we will get a whole story arc about Izzy “I wanna bone Blackbeard” Hands learning that he does in fact wanna bone Blackbeard and hence has been so pissed and hurt all this time.
I mean… at this point it is not even at all unlikely that there will be a scene where Ed sits Izzy down and has to give him a friendzone talk alá:
“Iz, I will always care about you but you love Blackbeard and you have to learn that I am not Blackbeard, in fact probably never was. I am Edward Teach and all I wanna be from now on is just that and be with the man who loves me for the person that I actually am and not for the ideal that people want to see in me. So I’m afraid, you have to let me go, mate”
The fact that this started out as a pirate comedy and is now heading towards being the most adorable and dramatic found-family gay soap ever is just… I need to sit down for a minute.
I love the fact that whenever somebody does some tiny thing that I don’t like, I’m like:
“You are now my mortal enemy, I will despise you anytime you enter a room from this day onward. My eyes will cut through you like knives when they meet yours and our rivalery shall never be knownst to thou but I will menacingly whisper thy name by the time I’ll pass death’s doorstep”
And then there’ll be that one odd motherfucker who has 76 war crimes attached to their name, probably hasn’t slept or showered in a year and drinks the blood of infants like a Martini - and I’ll be like:
“Okay, but… are they really that bad? :(“
My overtly dramatic but realistic prediction for the OFMD S2 pearl necklace:
After Stede and Ed make up, their freshly reestablished bond is (understandbly so) very fragile because Ed still carries a lot of the hurt from that night on the beach with him.
Stede, seeing how horribly he hurt the man that he loves, decides to come up with a plan and tells Ed that the crew and him will do some “lame robbery” to earn some money back and that Ed should just stay in the cabin because it wouldn’t excite him anyways and he should better use that time to rest and to get some energy back.
In reality Stede drags the crew into a fancy jewlery store and asks them for help to pick out something fancy because of Ed’s love for fine things.
The crew being absolutely done (because let’s be real “picking out apology jewlery for your captain’s boyfriend who left you out to die” really wasn’t part of the job description) just points at all kinds of stuff in hopes of going back to the ship as soon as possible.
However, Stede - being the extra person he is - feels like nothing is good enough for his beloved until he sees the pearl necklace and his eyes light up.
The crew looks very sceptical and asks their captain if he is sure that that is really something that Edward, Blackbeard, would like; but Stede is 100% convinced (“It’s perfect”).
So they steal the necklace (“I am sorry gentlemen, I wish I could pay you for your services but I’m doing this in the name of love!”) and head back to the ship.
When Stede arrives, Edward is already standing on deck and skeptically but curiously comes up to see what they gathered from the “lame robbery” - Izzy is right by his side and looks as pissed as ever.
While the crew already prepares to be thrown of the ship a second time, Stede hides the necklace behind his back and starts with a speech that probably goes something like:
“Ed, I know how much I’ve hurt you but I wanted you to know that I am so thankful to have been given a second chance by you and that I really don’t take any of this for granted.
And to honor that, I, with the help of the crew, picked out this fine piece of jewlery to remind you of the fact that you are worthy of beautiful things and how much I really meant it when I told you that I loved you”
Edward very slowly takes the pearl necklace out of Stede’s hands and looks at it with an unreadable expression - which in turn makes Izzy grin with pride:
“You are such a miserable creature, Bonnet. Did you really think that you could make someone like Blackbeard, the most cruel pirate to have ever lived, forgive you by gifting him a woman’s necklace?!”
“I love it”
“Exactly! He- WHAT?!”
Ed’s eyes are watery and still focused on the necklace as he quietly repeats himself:
“I love it”, he says, hesitates, but then walks up to Stede and kisses him on the cheek, “thank you” he adds and starts blushing.
(“Most cruel pirate to have ever lived” repeats Black Pete meanwhile under his breath with an obvious eyeroll, which earns him an elbow from Lucius)
Stede finally feels the tension leave his body and manages to shyly reply “no, thank you” with a smile that mirrors Ed’s.
Izzy only manages to hiss “I’m too old for this shit” as he turns on his heel and walks off.
But Ed honored the symbol of their renewed love and never went anywhere without the necklace again.
Con O’Neill came out as queer while wearing a shirt with the transflag on it at a convention in FLORIDA of all places!
