Actual things that happen in the 1897 Dracula novel, without context:
- A character has ominous nightmares and attributes them to eating too much paprika
- Dracula first appears wearing a fake beard
- The person he was trying to fool with the fake beard immediately realizes Dracula and Beard Guy are the same man, due to both having really firm handshakes
- We are told parrots are immortal unless fatally wounded
- A Texan cowboy opens fire on a bat flitting around a window, and lodges a bullet in the wall of an occupied room
- A woman is called a polyandrist for receiving blood transfusions from multiple men
- An incorrectly addressed telegram leads to two deaths, multiple druggings, and several children being assaulted
- Dracula, while trying to maintain a low profile, takes a lovely trip to the zoo and freaks out the animals so badly that he gets mentioned in a newspaper article
- The one character who knows anything about vampires spends a good two-thirds of the book refusing to talk about vampires
- Dracula went to Satan's Witchcraft Academy and somehow this is only brought up in two throwaway lines
- A character gets stuck inside a circle of communion wafer crumbs
- A major plot point of the book is Dracula (who was said to be a brilliant scholar and has the strength of twenty mortal men) realizing he can move boxes without human help
- Someone is referred to as "manifestly a prig of the first water"
- Two characters have a hobby of reading train schedules
- A hospital lets a mental patient escape to see what will happen
- A character starts vomiting up feathers from eating whole birds
- A doctor refuses to give a medical diagnosis and instead makes a speech about growing corn
- Dracula impersonates another character just by wearing the same clothes, despite being taller and visibly much older. This deception is successful.
- A character "cleans" a room by eating all the insects in it
- Suddenly: rats. Thousands of them.
- The heroes progress in their efforts through "the wonderful power of money," i.e., bribery
- Dracula has three other vampires in his castle. Their relation to him is never explained, nor are any of them named.
- A character insists his salvation depends on having a pet cat
- Dracula is thwarted by flowers on more than one occasion
- A group of vampires stand in the hall outside a man's bedroom, talking loudly about their plans to eat him. When he comes to the door to confront them, they run away laughing

History
Vibe Girls were a doll line based on a certain kind of “vibe” and included 50 stickers, a postcard, a diary, and a mood ring. The diary has about 20 pages with prompts to encourage expressing emotions. It was sold exclusively at Walmart and there was also a website: www.sharegoodvibes.com

History
Mystixx was created to compete with Mattel’s Monster High dolls. The dolls had a gimmick of being able to “change” her face: her head having a front and back face that you can swivel around. Their hair is a wig that can be attached and removed. According to reviews: the wigs did not cover the secondary face very well.
There were two lines created: a vampire themed one and the other as zombies who dressed in rococo fashion. Another line was already created and shown in a toyfair but was never released,

The 4 main characters can have their face switched from a human girl to a vampire.
Mystixx Rococo Zombie
Based on both Zombies and Rococo.
Rococo is an art style is known for its extravagance, asymmetry, and use of natural motifs. Rococo in a fashion sense features pastel colors, bold stripes, decorative bows and painted white faces.
Pulling the dolls hair braids will allow the hair change into a updo.
Unreleased Line
Mystixx Grimm- This line was supposed to be released between the vampire and zombie lines but it is unknown why it was never released.
The dolls were animal themed and had cardboard masks to serve as an extra transformation. In the toyfair, their masks were plastic.
It is also unknown why this line is called "grimm" as they are animal spirits with no connection to any Grimm's fairytale or seem particular dark. A possible theory is that it's name was based on the popularity of a tv series, "Grimm" happening during this time.
Websodes
Two episodes were released: the first episode was a web diary about being vampires while the other was an episode about Siva.
Mystikats Connection
In 2006, Play Hut released a doll line called Mystikats. Besides the similar brand name, the dolls also had the same name as their feline counterparts.
Other Notes about Copying
Mystixx is considered a knockoff of Monster High in the doll community. But I would like to list some other copycat items as well:
- In official artwork on their Facebook page: Talin can be seen wearing a direct copy of Monster High's, first wave's Draculaura's signature pink books.
- In the same artwork, their artstyle and poses seems to have been traced from other official Bratz artwork.

History
MystiKats was a doll line created to compete with MGA’s Bratz. The MystiKats were half-cats, half-human creatures who had powers that were bestowed upon them by a mysterious “kat” on their 18th birthdays. Each doll has a tattoo for her particular symbol (that feature may have inspired MGA’s future doll line: Bratzillas.)
Only one doll line, series 1, was produced for the U.S market. Other doll lines were created, but only for Australia. The dolls came with an outfit, a plush cat, removable cat eyes, two pop-on tails (which double as bracelets to wear), a purse, a brush, and a necklace that matches each girl's symbol.
An unique feature is that their knees were articulated via wire as opposed to click knees.

Doll Lines
Series 1
There are two versions: the U.S version and the Australian release. The Australian release has a slightly revised face sculpt for the nose and eyes, more details listed in the bio, and had different copyrights for the US 2005 release and the Australian 2006 release. The pet cats included were different as well: U.S had the plush version and Australian had a plastic version.
Gems
Tagline: “In the MK World, anything is possible! Join the MK Gems as they Celebrate Color, Beauty and their Never-Ending Friendship!!!”
Gems was a doll line created to complete with Bratz Genie Magic- which was released in 2006. Each character had a gem to represent themselves.
- Kalani: “Kalani’s Gem, the Amethyst, represents her Faith in the good things life brings.”
- Talin: “Talin’s Gem, the Ruby, represents her Nurturing Nature, this is why she always protects her friends!”
- Siva: “Siva’s Gem, the Sapphire, represents her Inner Truth and knowing right from wrong.”
- Azra: “Azra’s Gem, the Pink Diamond, represents Abundance, and her desire to have everything perfect.”
On The Prowl
Tagline: “The girls are ready to strut their stuff in the hottest outfits. Follow Kalani, Talin, Azra & Siva as they explore our world, keeping their Special Powers a secret! Is it possible?”
This line was an Australian Target exclusive and was sold for 23.99. The gimmick was that each girl is traveling to a different destination around the globe.
Rebrand: Mystikats GoLive
The series decided to rebrand in 2006
Series 1
In late 2006, the Mystikats brand removed the hybrid cat aspect and are now taller, with different face molds based on the features of anime. The GoLive line was released with three of the four girls, with Azra removed. However, artwork was created for her, hinting that she may have been removed late in production. The rebrand also incorporated a handheld game system that can also be plugged into the TV.
A stand is used to place the doll on to interact with the system and minigames can be unlocked by changing the doll’s outfit to activate it.
Turbo Babez
This line includes a motorbike that the doll could ride one. The pop-on ears and tail are included back on the doll.
Unreleased Line
GoLive – High School Mystikal
Tagline: “Get ready to Go Live with the MystiKats™ at Mystik High School! Place one of the MystiKats™ dolls near the Mystik Krystal™ to activate cool games, as the MystiKat™ Mystiks interact with you in this innovative combination of traditional doll play with video game technology!“
The doll line was set to be released in the fall of 2007 but was canceled due to previous lines poor sales.
Mystixx Connection
Due to Monster High’s success, in 2012, PlayHut decided to release a competing doll line: Mystixx.
Besides the similar brand name, the dolls also had the same name as their feline counterparts.
