Happy au we all deserve (what I think should’ve happened after rotj)

Han and leia get married at some point and have non evil kids none named ben

Luke and lando marry and have a beautiful son Finn (whose name probably would be owen or anakin or something like that but it’s finn ok) who is never stolen from them and gets a happy life with his dads and his aunt and uncle and non evil cousins

And who are all friends with poe and see kes and Shara like second parents with poe seeing han leia luke and lando like that as well and just the kids knowing that they’ll always have a place at any of those houses and are loved there

And they all are particularly family until officially it’s true when finn and poe get together and marry and just everyone lives happy ever after and no ones die or becomes evil and nothing bad happens

not the handoluke concepts we deserve but the handoluke concepts we need:

luke is pretty much physically incapable of sleeping in after growing up on a farm schedule, lando is the kind of Adult-adult who actually just wakes up in the morning, han has never in his life heard of a sleep schedule. eventually luke and lando fall into a routine where one of them gets up to make breakfast, the other sacrifices himself to hans need to be cozy until absolutely necessary (and then usually a little later), and then they swap the next morning. if either luke or lando are away in the morning for whatever reason, han doesnt let whoever is still there out of bed until at least noon

they share clothes so often the only way they can tell them apart is by figuring which of three (3) categories it fits best in: 1-wouldnt look out of place on a runway or in a magazine 2-same as 1 but slightly smaller and/or tailored, and 3-bizarre thrift finds/chunky sweaters. except stuff like pajama pants and old tshirts. the pajama pile is anyones guess

han likes being the middle spoon best

lando sings in the shower and han+luke try not to be really gay about it and fail and they dont tell him they can hear bc they wouldnt want him to stop

luke is the “look at this stray we have to keep it” bf, han and lando both think the other will be the “we have to take it to a shelter/rescue” responsible bf, and theyre both wrong. they have a cat now

han is the cold bf. luke is the “heres my jacket” bf bc deserts get chilly at night and hes too stubborn to ever admit when hes cold anyway. lando is the only one who ever remembers those instant heat packs exist

Nb transfeminine Lando asking luke if she (trans woman n gay as gay can b) if she wants to go out and try and outfit hunt or see if a tailor can replicate her moms old outfits but the only one that luke cares about is the all white crop top outfit ?

No ok but literally my fave lukelando hc is tht luke srsly is n honestly so unsubtle u could see the signs form space? except bc he came out of the gate tht way lando thinks tht its all some sort of weird joke

?  He even brings up to leia ‘you know I haave no idea where luke got his weird humor from one of these days its gonna get him in trouble’  leia considers telling lando purely just bc hearing luke complain was getting old. But sana finds the whole thing endlessly entertaining so she strongarms leia into letting it all play out

Except at a certain point Sana gets exasperated and just looks Lando dead in the eye and says ‘the boy wants you to fuck him. ‘

All i want from star wars episode eight is it opening to luke inviting rey to have lunch with him and lando, and everytime luke tries to downplay his legend lando just waves him off as ‘being modest’ before launching into a tale of some brave feat as a starry-eyed rey looks on

And when rey brings up kylo ren and the first order, luke and lando give each other a knowing look and lando reaches out to grasp luke’s hand in quiet comfort and support

i hope the reason they’ve been kind of reticent on lando being in the new trilogy is because he and luke are married

rey and luke are still gonna be staring at each other and lando’s going to come around the corner whistling a song and telling luke it’s time for dinner

OK BUT JUST IMAGINE

Leia introduce Luke to Lando in the Falcon, and tell Lando why Vader was looking for Luke (or why she thought Vader was looking for him anyway) very pointedly, to remind him that it’s his fault Luke is in this state and that she’s still very angry with him

and Lando feels guilty because Luke really doesn’t look so good, so he tries to defuse the situation how he knows best by complimenting Luke (and flirting just a little because the guy’s cute ok sue him) 

 “So you’re the pilot who destroyed the Death Star ?” and then with an appreciative smile “No one said you were so beautiful” 

and Luke, ok, Luke just had his encounter with Vader and is all bloodied and injured and he’s pretty out of sort and also more important he’s not as used to being complimented that way unlike Leia and Lando’s smile is very nice so he kind of just freeze and looks at Lando incredulously and then blushes and stutter when he tries to say thank you

and Lando feels even worse now, he thought that Luke would either laugh or glare at him, he didn’t expect the guy to be so shocked and didn’t want to make thing even more awkward 

so he just kind grip Luke’s shoulder, catch his eyes and tell him with every once of sincerity he has in his body  

“I’m sorry”

both for the inappropriate flirting and for helping Vader set a trap to catch him is left unsaid

but for a moment Luke feels like Lando is commiserating with him about Vader being his father and he suddenly really wants to burst into tears and get hugged by the beautiful man with the nice smile

but that would be even more awkward and require several explanations he’s not prepared to give so instead of that he simply duck his head and tell Lando that it’s ok and that he understands

and he does

he probably should feel angry he knows

he can feels Leia anger hanging like a stormy cloud over the room

but he has pretty much exhausted all his emotions right now and he can see things logically, and Lando had to protect his city

either way it’s not his fault

it was Fa-Vader’s 

That’s pretty much when the shock hit Luke again and his eyes become unfocussed and his breath hitch and it becomes clear to the others that Luke isn’t really there with them anymore

Luke miss Lando watching him with concern, and Leia pushing him into a seat and Chewbaca’s mournful moan, and Lando putting his cape on his shoulder when he starts to shiver

but later on, he’ll realize that he still have the cape and when he’ll knock on Lando’s door to give it back he’ll remember Lando smiling at him and calling him beautiful, and feel a small flutter of nervousness and excitement in his stomach

i love this i love where this is going i love the TAGS ON UR POST i just love ppl actually writing out some stuff set after lando getting luke safely into the ship u know???? i love the conflicting emotions bc what a total meet un-cute both these characters’ worlds have been upended everything is in flux and crisis and luke’s trauma… but i also love the idea of them finding e/o and making e/o happy UGH

haha thank you! and same, I just love this ship and the idea that they just kind of find each other after their whole life just went into flame and look at each other and it’s just like “oh hey there we barely know each other but i’m glad we met, glad we found each other at the right time cause i kind of needed someone like you in my life right about now …”

it’s a situation where logically everything should be going to shit for both of them and they should be completely not ok but somehow they’re fine ? holding their head above the water ? and just kind of affectionate with each other even though they’re strangers, but somehow it’s just easy

you know when you just kind of click with someone and you wonder why the hell every other relationship or interactions you have with other people is so hard when with this person it’s so natural ?

(and both lando and luke probably felt something relatively similar with han and for luke also with leia, but this is a whole new level of easy companionship tbh)

i feel like this is what happen with them, no explanation required you know, they just accept the other completely and it’s comfortable and they just breathe easier when they’re together and with everything else that’s happening it’s a blessing

(and honestly if this is how leia feels when she’s with han, they both think, it’s no wonder she’s so upset that he’s gone)

anyway i need to stop or i’ll just keep talking about this ship forever

FINN IS LUKE AND LANDO'S LOVE CHILD PASS IT ON

I love the idea of Lando going on a date at Luke’s place and the two of them having a nice time and then Lando waking up in the middle of the night while Luke is sleeping and throwing away all of his clothes besides the all black bodysuit for his own good. like who else is gonna do it

 Luke walking around with bb!Rey in a sling on his front? Like constantly wherever he goes and that actually helps Rey sleep? Like more so than even the little cradle that was made and given as a peace offering by the Ewoks. 

Lando was the one who showed to him, it was something that he did with the kid’s he was growing up around him.  Lando does it a lot just around the kitchen and the house. 

(Whenever Lando does it Luke has a Moment.  He’d never have expected a babysling on a man wearing loungeclothes and a sleep robe to be as attractive and heartwarming as it was but…)
