A morning walk through Göttingen - definitely worth a freezing nose and numb fingers!
You just gotta love your younger brother! Especially when he patiently keeps a straight face….

An Indian fisherman sitting on his wooden boat, fixing a net. In the background, you can see the white “Our Lady of Ransom Church” of Kanyakumari build around 1900. When I took this photograph in 2009, the aftermath of the tsunami from 2004 was still visible on the beaches.
The colorful track a Ganpati procession leaves behind on it’s way to the sea where they will sink the large plastic statue of the elephant-god Lord Ganesha they are pulling through the streets of Mumbai.
Just returned from a small vacation at the Baltic Sea. Brought some Photographs with me. I actually feel this one is a little bit overdone when I look at it now. But I also dont feel like merging five times five photographs into one HDR-Panorama anymore... so here you go :P
ROBOTS OR DINOSAURS?
Dinosaurs. Obviously. RAAAAWRRR!!
A new panorama. You can see the Machhimar Nagar slum ("Fishermen Village") on the right and in front of it the Backbay Reclamation area. Here, starting in the 1930s, land was gained back from the sea but the project was stopped later due to corruption and environmental problems. Therefore the very south of Mumbai is left with a large rectangular gap since the 1970s.
In the distance you can find the famous Taj hotels and to the left the skyline of the Malabar Hills.
"Flower Power"
Taken in the area of Crawford Market: two men selling plastic flowers. They were excited when I showed them their picture, however - due to my very basic Hindi - I didn't quiet catch their names.
Rickshaws waiting for passengers outside if Bandra Station, Mumbai. This area, often referred to as the "Queen of Suburbs" is well known for it´s endless shopping possibilities and restaurants and therefore considered quite "hip". A number of Bollywood actors have taken residence here.
People following their business on a regular day in Mumbai. Every time I walk the narrow streets around Crawford Market, I feel how time has almost stopped here: carriages are cars now and donkeys were replaced by scooters but most still carry, push or pull their goods through this network of lanes like it’s the year 1876. Dogs stray around and street vendors cry out to promote their goods - the atmosphere is thick and heavy, the sweet smell of decaying garbage mixes with the smoke from countless incense sticks and the sweat in the humid air. Welcome to Bombay.
A road leading through the desert of Kutch, North India.
Does Mumbai even sleep?
