actually hm. au where if you let the chargers die for the qun, krem ends up surviving. and being the only survivor of the entire group. many thoughts all of the time about this.

all im saying is that imagine the fuckery that would happen in bull's head after he watches krem go down with the rest of their chargers only to discover that he's alive in the aftermath. how he'd have to he the one to explain to krem what exactly happened. how they are now the only chargers left out of their entire company and bull has to deal with the guilt of letting them die every moment he looks at krem while krem struggles to recover from his injuries. that's all

the dynamic of bull being the inquisitor's personal bodyguard and then the inquisitor taking bull along with them during hushed whispers is. painful, actually. he couldn't protect you. he couldn't protect anyone. he couldn't protect himself. but then he sees you again after a full year of torture, red lyrium growing from his bones and the blight being grafted into his skin, and you tell him that you'll fix this. you'll save him- your version of him, at least. and the only thing he can do is try to make up for the fact he couldn't protect you by sacrificing himself to let you get back to your timeline. im sick

Qun!Bull lives rent free in my head because when you meet him he is not a true believer and hasn't been for years! His conversations make it very clear that he is completely aware that neither he nor anyone he currently loves could survive in the Qun and this is something that he obsessively worries about. and yet, if his personal quest is not completed- if nothing is done to change this state he's in- then, when given the signal in Trespasser, he shows no sign of hesitation. Not for friends, family, or love. and of course there's Cole implying he's completely dissociated. just. fuck!
