and another sketch. (as it is the fourth advent...😉 )
calm among the chaos
HOW could have I not illustrated that scene?! :D
I will never cease to chuckle at that awkward soldier with that bowl of fruit. He has no idea how he got there.
“Can you teach me?”
Ach, Elhokar... One of the scenes I read this morning during breakfast. These scribbles are fun. :D
morning person
something seems out of character... but I guess as long the balance is the same....
chasmpals 1 & 2
Like I said, more of Shallan and Kaladin being pals in the chasms... The first one I made because I wanted to draw the chasmfiend again and it’s spren. Also light!! The second one stuck in my head because Kaladin sees their reflection in the giant eye and thinks that at least he does not look as scared as he feels, while Shallan does not look scared at all, but fascinated, crazy woman.
It was quite fun to work just with black, white and grey.
chasms at night
yeeeah... I know wrote I’ll paint less and read more from now on. That was more or less to take pressure of myself. But now that I am reading again... God, I love, love, love that whole part in chasms in part four of WoR so much! Hence, there might be more from it. ^^°
Third Wheel
More Shallan and Adolin dating. Also I have been painting so many happy versions of Kaladin lately (and yes, he can use and always deserves more), but thought it not wrong to add an appropriately grouchy one...
“YOU?!”
Everyone recognizes Witt promptly, but only Shallan is delighted about that. (Much credit to her ability for perplexing the people around her. To baffle Hoid of all people... that's double black diamond level of baffling...). What was also very hilarious about this scene is Kaladin wondering for a long time if and where Shallan carries a hidden weapon (... what he doesn't know: her true blade hidden in plain sight all along.*sideglancing at pattern*)
“No apology! Boots!”
Comedy gold, Shallan. Comedy gold. ...
Disbelief
more a rough thing here, but why not...
Szeth attacks. Dalinar uses Last Clap. It is effective. Kaladin uses tackle... Teamfight! Hmmm... not perfect, but it was fun to puzzle out the anatomy here and try to improve the flow of the lines.
of power and perception | scholarly endeavor | changing ship
Back to the sceeeeeences!! I really like Sanderson’s description of Shallan’s dress getting in the way in that dunking scene. It makes me almost really feel cold wind, wet silk and salty water...
