demi sexy :D It still is asexual awareness week and since I penned out some personal thoughts on the matter a few weekends ago, I thought I'd use these last hours of the week to post it. It was only really last year that Jon Sims, lots of fanfiction writers and some good friends helped me come to the realization that the labels of demisexual or gray sexual actually fit my experience and kind of explained some questions, I didn't even know I had about myself. But nevertheless suddenly things started to make sense in a way they hadn't before. I wouldn't say that my experience is that unique on the matter, but who knows. I am still learning about what it truly means to me and I am sure it could change or shift at some point in the future. For now, it helps me understand.

8 - Design // SPOILERS for Rhythm of War and Yumi

Well, well, well … since I do have some lineart for the scene in which we are properly introduced to Design lying around on my shelved-project-shelf, I took the opportunity to try colour some bits of it. That cryptic is such a delight. I am sure she would have been brilliant at annoying Elhokar as well. But I guess Hoid kind of deserves her, too.

Rhythm of Affirmation  (part two – part one is here)

Renarin finds himself a sought-after bachelor after all. It’s a fruitless endeavour, ladies. Aaah, the fluff. A particular shoutout and thanks to the lovely people on the Bridge Four discord server for helping fine tuning the dialogue 💕 Finding ways to depict rhythms is an interesting challenge, especially with RoW and more listener and singer POVs in mind :)

Mateform Sooo, like i wrote under the last post, I‘ve been thinking about what kind of a dynamic Renarin and Rlain would have. Since there are comparatively few PoV‘s yet for them in the books so far, I ended up scripting out some scenes and just went with drawing this one. From a speculative point in the future of the story with their relationship being already pretty much established... Drawing relationships with partially ace components seems to be a theme for me this month for some reason, although I guess with this one the asexuality falls pretty much under the table, but then that is the point of mateform. Less awkward

Well... I usually don't really write fanfiction, but instead prefer to stick more directly to the text and focusing on my own visual interpretation for that (unless it is jokey jokes, then all bets are off). But I also am a sucker for casual romance side plots that while being not the main focus of the story still are there and important to the characters and their progression. Hence these kind of scenes don't need much prompting to form in my brain... It was important to me that their dialogue, as I imagined it in their voices, still sounded true to their characters and I tried out several things for the coloration of this to make it als light and fluffy as possible without becoming too kitschy? It is more or less the antithesis to the Lonely scene... also since weird kissing sounds are not a problem in this medium... yeah. Yeah.

Unity part 4 Well, … that one was on hibernation for a few months, but it was finally and surprisingly quickly brought to completion in the last two days. I wonder if Dalinar will ever get into arts and crafts for learning how to bond things in different ways than just forcefully slamming them together. It has been working way to well for him for most of his life, but the man badly needs to broaden his analogies and methods for it. He knows it, too, I think. I’d love to see Rock teach him cooking.

No complaints Just a little scene between to characters of mine... (They recently left another burdensome travel companion and with him a lot of drama in a city.) I just felt like drawing a lot of rough and unrefined things. And mountains. Ah, it was so lovely to hike in the mountains.

Dalinar reminding us, that sometimes the most badass thing you can do, is to own up to your past mistakes with all their shame and anguish and using that to become a better person. Even though... he still has a long way to go 😅

Transforming Love

Thinking about this scene I decided to try myself at the lyrical structure of the vorin ketek poetry, which was a fun challenge itself. Then I wondered, if one could make a ketek in comic form as well. I really love this moment, because in all the rollercoaster ride of emotions in Oathbringer's finale it is the pivoting moment to me. With in a single, small moment of love and compassion from one cousin to another the whole mood softly shifts into a new gear. So the symmetrical, yet transformative nature of a ketek seemed to fit just right.
