Steven Grant had a shit day.

No matter what he did, Donna was right behind him to tell him he did it wrong. The rudest group of tourists came through the museum gift shop. He dropped his lunch on the ground. It felt like everything that could go wrong did go wrong today. So, with a heavy sigh, he made his way home where hopefully he could rest and restart tomorrow anew.

But, as he walked through the hallway towards his flat, movement caught his eye. Steven looked up from where his gaze was fixed on the ground and he noticed that someone new was moving in next door. There were boxes everywhere and he heard the chatter of the movers from inside.

That was when he saw you.

“Sorry I’m so late, love,” Valkyrie walked through the doorway of your shared bedroom, “Meetings ran late and you would not believe how stupid some of these countries leaders are…” she stopped in her tracks when she saw you spread out on the bed with just a sheet to cover your body. 

You had a glazed over expression on your face, and you looked like you rushed to cover yourself up. One arm pinned the sheet to your body while the other was hidden underneath. Even through the cover, Valkyrie saw the way your chest rose and fell with your deep breaths, and her skin heated up as she studied the outline of your figure through the sheet.

“It’s alright babe,” your voice was soft yet strained, “I must have fallen asleep…”

A smirk lit up her face, “Is that so?” her voice dropped as she swaggered over to the bed and ghosted her fingers over your body, “So I wouldn’t find any surprises under the sheet now, would I?”

It’s not that he was scared, he just… never had the time. You know, he’d be running late, as per usual, knowing Donna was no doubt hanging around to note his tardiness and give him a talking to. After work he had Gus to see to, needed to call mum and let her know about his day—and plus, you had a life.

You had work, you had other interests, you… you just seemed very interested in your book whenever his eyes would find you through the crowd, or… or you were watching the passers-by on the street—he’d hate to drag your attention away from them. Sure you got off at the same stop, but you had places you needed to be. He shouldn’t keep you from them.

“Ok Frank everything is all set for the…” your words got caught in your throat as you looked up from where your gaze was set on the door you just closed and saw the way he was dressed. Your mouth dropped open before you could stop yourself as you took in how good he looked in the suit that adorned his body. The waistcoat fit him perfectly and the fine silk of the shirt clung to his muscular arms. Your eyes trailed along the prominent veins to where the sleeves were rolled up. 

You weren’t even aware that you had frozen in place until your name in Frank’s voice broke you from your trance.
