Vila Wolf's Dyslexic Folklorist Ranting

@ladykrampus / ladykrampus.tumblr.com

Hmm... I've got a strange and bizarre mind. I know what you're saying, doesn't everyone on the internet? I can say this, I'm not for everyone. It was once said that I've got a razor wit, a dark sarcasm and one hell of a twisted sense of humor. I like horror, I am a folklorist and I smoke. October 2, 1835

On October 2, 1835 the Battle of Gonzales took place between Texas militia and a Mexican army, during the starting point of the Texas Revolution. The Mexican cavalry force was under the command of Francisco de Castañeda which commanded 100 men, while the Texan militia was under the command of John Henry Moore in which commanded 150 militia men. Only 4 Mexican troops died in this small skirmish, while there was no Texan casualty. In reality no one win this battle, the Mexican force retreated so there wouldn’t be a blown out battle between them and the militia. Though the Texan believe that they won this battle against the Mexicans. After the battle Antonio Lopez De Santana started to gather troops for the Texas campaign against the rebels

A customs officer at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo initially examined the shipment listed as Egyptian sculptures.

Homeland Security Investigations agents determined the artifacts weren’t travelling with required documentation and actually were Egyptian property.

The priceless objects will move through a government forfeiture process and eventually be returned to Egypt. Read more.

Excavating the River of Giants

In the American Museum of Natural History’s Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs, there is a great fossil mismatch. You can find the deceptive pairing in the Apatosaurus exhibit. Set in the floor behind the enormous dinosaur is a set of trackways—the Apatosaurus is posed as if the skeletal sauropod has just left the tracks behind. But there is no way that Apatosaurus left those tracks. The footprints and the long-necked dinosaur on display were separated by tens of millions of years.
