SUICIDE SQUAD (2016) | DAVID AYER

I'm hoping that the DCEU rumour mill isn't getting my hopes up for nothing when it comes to the Ayer Cut, because you all know how much I would love to see Suicide Squad in all of its glory.

As I've always said, the extended cut and the novel was a lot better than the shit that was put out in the cinema, and so much content was missing! And we can all agree that the theatrical cut was very shit. I remember walking out the day it came out thinking "what the actual fuck? was that it?" I can appreciate the editing that was used when it came to VFX and all the neon shit, that looked so damn good, but it didn't quite suit the movie.

It was disappointing overall.

And to be honest, after seeing the content that was missing such as storylines, outfits, relationships, etc. I feel like it could be so damn good putting the actual cut out there. I know James Gunn and David Ayer are pretty much good buddies and talk a lot, it would be nice to see James giving David what he deserves. DC shat on him from a great height, and for what?

Plus, I miss my favourite soldier, Rick. I miss my angry soldier so much. (And I also miss Rick and June being together, but I could write a whole essay about those two, so I'm gonna leave it at that.)

Floyd: "You must really love this girl - and no way you look like the loving kind. No offense meant."

Rick: "I'm not. I always thought love was bullshit. Hey... don't look at me like I'm nuts. I'm being serious."

Floyd: "Yeah, I know. Just hard to believe. I mean, you know what kind of person I am, but even I found love."

Floyd: "Yeah, there is that, but I found it. And it was mine to lose. Which I did - and that's my point."

Rick: "Actually, Lawton. That's my point. Loves tenous. It doesn't last. Hell, I don't think it can last. Look, I get lust, desire, mutual benefit... whatever. But actual love? I rated that with UFOs. Lots of believers, but no proof."

Floyd: "Then you met June."

Rick: "Then I met June."

say what you want about either version of the movie, but some of the lines are darn sweet.

"What happened?"

"Terror attack, dirty bombs. Bad guys shootin' up the place with AKs, you know? Usual shit."

"Right... Hey you're a bad liar. I don't know if they told you but I'm a hitman, I'm not a fireman. I don't save people."

"Anything for a dollar, right?"

"You know the dark places too. Don't act like you dont."

"I'm a soldier and you're a serial killer who takes credit cards."

"When the shootin' starts, and it will... You'll cut and run."

The way I know this whole scene off by heart...
