So choosing what Lugnut would be based off of was difficult and I ended up choosing something very simple.

A different TFA AU idea for how Orion and Megatronus could fit into TFA.
AU where Megatronus and Orion were the founders of the Decepticons like millennia ago, the two were killed and Megatron and Optimus are their reincarnations.
Megatron was reborn within the Decepticons and everyone knows he’s Megatronus’s reincarnation. (Not sure if no remembers past life or not) but they can tell though spark signature.
No-one ever paid enough attention to Optimus to see similarities with Orion pax’s spark (Decepticons probably destroyed all past information on him when he initially defected so no-one could use anything against them)
This playing out in 1 of 2 ways
1) they don’t find out who Optimus is well into the series and everyone dealing with the fallout of that Optimus maybe having to deal with memories that change personality and finding out somethings about the start of the war that really mess him up.(Maybe even Orion personality overwriting his own and fight between past/current self)
or the funnier option
2)Somehow Blitzwing and Lugnut find out like at the start of the series while Megatron’s presumed dead, because all Decepticons know Orion spark signature they’ve been waiting for their second leader to be reborn for vorns…and then suddenly they see it match this tiny autobot
Team Prime being very confused when instead of fighting Blitzwing and Lugnut are kneeling in front of Optimus who is trying very hard not to freak out because what are you talking about? I have no idea what you mean? why are you not trying to kill us?
(Lugnut and Blitzwing either following Optimus around in full overprotective mode because Orion must be protected at all costs or trying to constantly kidnap Optimus because getting away form autobots as clearly he’s been brainwashed)
Starscream also tagging along because Orion Pax was the leader who had a braincell in their processor and an amazing strategist so if he’s not the leader of the deceptions at least someone else he trusts is in charge.
Optimus is just completely confused and even more so when Megatron comes back which is awkward.
The entire Decepticon army are just staring between their 2 leaders like ‘ummm who do we listen to?’
Optimus isn’t sure how he went from academy washout to leader of the enemy fraction but apparently that’s his life now.
