More now than ever am I having trouble understanding why nobody was ever tryna get with Kisame. He’s 6’4”, he’s fucking ripped, he’s SO loyal, he’s a great listener, he’s appreciative, he has a good sense of humor, he’s got great bone structure, he’s reasonable, he’s secure in his masculinity probably because he’s bi, he’s not afraid to be introspective, he’s the complete package and he’s only what like 30?? As a kid I maybe didn’t appreciate all that but now I’m approaching my mid 20s and I’m like bruh who cares if there’s a big ninja war going on, when you spot marriage material of that quality lock it down.

I like Kisame’s backstory. It’s nice and understated and profoundly horrifying. The person who had to kill his own comrades for the greater good of his village. In doing so, he recognized that the ‘greater good’ was a load of crap. He joined the Akatsuki in hopes he’d get a world without lies.

This is a really interesting contrast to Itachi, who also was used by his village to kill his own for the greater good. The difference it that Itachi never realized what Kisame did. Itachi may hate himself for what he did to his family, but he never saw that he was used. He never learned that his family didn’t have to die for the greater good.
