On February 28, 2011...I posted a teaser cover art of my White Nuzlocke, which most of you know as "Myths of Unova." I had just finished up my Diamond comic run, and I wanted to show the love I had for the nuzlocke gameplay by drawing out the semi-sequel of a comic. Back then, I thought I would be done within 1-2 years...and now, 4 years after, I am finally near the E4 (and still not done OTL).
Silliness aside, I want to let you guys all know that before the nuzlocke comics, I never was the type of person to stick to a long term project. I would have ideas, but I never went through with it until I started nuzlockes. So it really has a special place in my heart. Even with college and med school, I have managed to persevere and show a story that I wanted to show...and many people have enjoyed. As I always say (or imply), I am always grateful to all of my fans. Yes, it is a silly Pokemon White fanfic comic based on a specific gameplay, but the fact that so many people over time have been invested in my work is something I never expected. I have even made some great friends that I would have only dreamed of through "Myths of Unova" so while I will complain about how much work this is...I am always inwardly enjoying the payoff of said work.
Heck, even as an artist I have grown a lot from this. While I tell my friends the comic style is very simplified to optimize my time spent on drawing the comic (aka I have some shortcuts to make the comic process faster), I can still see that even with that I have vastly improved. As evidence, I tried my hand at re-drawing my cover art to see how far I have come.
Again, thank you! Now, for those new to the series, please check the links below! The first three links go to the comics, and the tumblr blog is more of a infodump site while the rest are for reading the series.
