Sometimes I just get struck by how very rare it is to have a show last as long as “Supernatural” did. It’s a ‘small show’ in comparison to “The Walking Dead” or “Game of Thrones” with a whole different budget to draw from. Yet none of these shows ever captured me as much as “Supernatural” did and still does. And that in its 11th season. And it never was about cool visual effects or expensive sets that pulled me in and didn’t let me go, it was the characters. It was and is the emotional side of the story, about silent gaps in a conversation, about the things you can pick up between the lines and it’s about how one look or one twitch of the mouth can express much more than a million words or the most outrageous fight scene. 11 seasons, 11 years, to me it really only registers how long a time it really is when making comparing gifsets for example and I type in 4x03 and 11x01. That’s 7 years in between and I would say a show getting 5 or 6 seasons is a lot already; “Supernatural” managed 11 so far. That’s mindblowing. I may have not been around right from the beginning, but I certainly will be here until the very end. Right beside Dean, Sam and Cas.
