“Are you trying to get the poor guy killed?” Josh rolls the window up, shutting out Liam’s classmate, and not allowing him to enter the vehicle, and refusing to take any more input.

In confusion, Mark knocks on the door, appalled by the behavior of Liam’s driver that he didn’t ask for.

Liam’s mortified by how this looks. He’s not a rude asshole like Josh is clearly trying to be in this situation.

“Josh, can you be any more of an elitist!” Liam protests, rolling down his own window and smiling as friendly as possible so he doesn’t look like a lunatic that’s in with some snooty people.

“It’s not an elitist thing. I’m trying to save his life.” Josh shocks the car window, the electricity flowing through the car and he’s never been more relieved to see the tires still ground them from coming to any harm.

“Should I catch you later or-?” Mark nervously watches Josh, understanding nothing about what’s going on.

“Yeah, sure. I’ll let Theo Raeken know you’re holding Liam up from seeing him.” Josh cynically replies on behalf of Liam, raging at the fact he’s this clueless.

“Wh—Theo Raeken?” Mark’s eyes widen, and the lightbulb clicks in his head, stuttering out some form of a laugh, as he comes to terms with how much he’s in danger.

Before Liam has any chance to explain why Theo has no control of who his friends are, the man throws the stack of books at his chest and flees.

Literally flees.

So fast that Liam’s impressed by his athletic ability and wonders if he should encourage him to try out for the track team.

“That was so unnecessary.” Liam whines, throwing his books into his bag and tossing a seething smile at Josh.

“Well he’s alive so I think I might need a medal.” Josh smirks, giving a little thumbs up sign.

“Hanging around Theo too much.” Liam facepalms.

Speaking of that overly arrogant and self righteous person, Theo’s calling.

Over and over again.

You Haunt the Forgotten Part of Me

The red Liam sees is astronomical and his vision blurs, the agonizing effect of anger, mixed with a desire to let go, to destroy all he can, overtakes any chance of rational thinking.

He roars again, and again, until he can barely stand.

Panting, snarling, and shaking, his vision comes back to him after what feels like hours.

“You done?” Theo blinks calmly, pulling his keys out, but he’s not about to leave Liam stranded and he’s waited, watched the wolf this whole time, as he flew off the deep end into primal rage.

“No, I’m not done!”

“I can wait.” Theo shrugs, wearing a small smirk and Liam’s not entirely surprised and happy to hear that, but he’s miffed by the lack of concern that the werewolf has. At the certainly he feels.

“What do you mean?” Liam grits out.

“You’ll be back.” Theo brushes his hand over his shoulder, holding his gaze and gently running his fingers over Liam’s neck.

His body heats up and his heart thuds loudly, as he mumbles out a soft reply that sounds a lot less confident than he would like.

Don’t move.” Liam snaps, dashing out of the room and down the stairs to find a creepy looking man in the corner, eyes wide with evil and a darkness that peers into his mind, terrorizing the little part of him that is still willing to believe in nice and simpler times.

“Actually, I don’t think this is a good time for you to play hero darling.” Theo’s annoying cold and heartless voice says, angering Liam into a new level of deranged rage. He turns around to make Theo go back to where he left him but Brett’s wave from the corner of the room catches his eye instead.

Tell me again why you were there.” Theo sits down, silently staring at Josh, waiting for his answer and Liam doesn’t have too many things he can say because it’s kind of his fault they were there. Mason’s too, but mostly his. Josh didn’t even want to go and now he’s forced to give some explanation to Theo and hope it’s not a big deal.

“It was me going, or Liam and Mason going by themselves. I think we both know that going with them was the better choice.” Josh’s hands are shaking slightly, as he nervously walks around the room, pacing back and forth.

“You didn’t answer my first question.” Theo holds a glass, his eyes hard with anger and he takes a long look at Liam, needing someone to hold accountable for this mess of a night, but he’s not going to let Josh take the blame here. Liam can’t do that with a clear conscience.

“No one has to answer your fifty thousand questions Theo. Can anyone have a night off in this place?” Liam scowls, giving an attitude that he doesn’t want to have, but this is quite the ordeal for being out for one night.

“Josh, you can take Mason home.” Theo orders, smirking at Liam’s scornful voice.

Josh doesn’t ask if Liam needs a ride. He leaves immediately and runs out to meet Mason, not even questioning if Theo asked or consulted him on if he wants to stay.

“What? You’re going to argue now.” Liam snarls, as Theo smirks, enjoying his moody demeanor.

“You’re going to need to take tomorrow off.” Theo licks his lips, eyes burning into Liam’s and every thing that he was going to say fades away, but still he tries to challenge him. He wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t at least try.

“Pretty sure of yourself there.” Liam snaps, his skin burning as he goes blank with confusion and a sudden desire to know exactly what Theo means.

“Tell me that again after tomorrow morning.” Theo says and it takes only a few seconds before he pulls Liam out of his chair and into his room.

“I would but I think we should deal with this.” Liam calmly smiles, more on guard than anything else.

“Liam.” Theo snaps, shaking his head, then trying to shove the werewolf back out of the closet.

“Hey. Listen. I know you’re not going to bite me. Focus.” Liam places his hands on Theo’s shoulders, eyeing the fangs and gulping.

“I’m stuck in here and it’s with you of all people.” Liam mutters, ready to claw the walls, to get out of here before he has to subject himself to Theo.

Theo is seated on the ground, eyes cold and hard, unmoving from his current stance, his hands still wet with blood,’ forcing Liam to take a long hard look at himself, and why he didn’t hightail it out of there in the first place.

“Maybe you had a desire to figure out what it is that makes me who I am.” Theo says, playing with the dirt on the floor, enjoying Liam’s aggravated stare and scathing words.

Why does Theo have to be soaking wet? What kind of nonsense is this and how is that fair at all when he’s not even ready to be in the same room with him alone.
