Summary:

What do you mean you lost the cake?" Liam asks, already stressed by the chaos that has been happening from the moment he woke up today.

I didn't lose it. I just forgot to pick it up." Corey admits, glancing over at Mason.

We can always change the day?" Mason suggests, concerned and not waiting for Liam's reaction.

"Uh, this has been a nightmare. Somebody's getting married today." Stiles says, aggravated.

Or Liam and Theo finally tie the knot, but everything that could go wrong does.

In other words, a very thiam wedding

“It’s freezing.” Theo shivers, pulling his jacket tighter around himself as he waits for Liam to come inside from making a last ditch effort to dig the car out of the driveway.

“Don’t even say it.” Liam says, his face still disappointed and his voice void of enthusiasm.

Theo did explain taking his truck would probably be the better option, but Liam really wanted to drive this year and going to his grandparents in Colorado was the most important part of his plan for the holidays.

He didn’t plan for a snowstorm on the way down. Theo wanted to fly but Liam wanted the experiences of having a road trip and now they’re not going anywhere.

Theo isn’t a holiday person and he doesn’t mind, but Liam’s entire family was going to be there and now Liam’s mood is ruined.

“We can leave once it melts. Even if we made it out of this place the roads won’t be plowed in time.” Theo points out, closing the door behind Liam and checking the thermostat to ensure it’s high enough.

“I know that but I had a plan.” Liam comments, sighing heavily and sitting down on the couch.

“I already messaged the owner so we can stay a few more days. It will be fine. Your family will understand.” Theo reassures him, smiling at Liam’s devastated face, and trying to remain positive.

Liam’s always been the holiday person and any time something happens or changes are made, it’s never something he takes lightly.

Theo loves that about him and he’s disappointed for Liam.

“Yeah, but that’s…it’s all ruined.” Liam huffs, snatching another piece of bacon from off his plate.

“I’m sure it’s not ruined. I’m here.” Theo teases, with a slight hint of sarcasm in his tone.

“That’s the thing. You’re a grinch at christmas but I know why. I really wanted to give you the gift I had planned.” Liam shakes his head, a smile on his face, as he looks far away in thought.

“My gift? We said no presents this year.” Theo reminds him, while Liam darts his head away to prevent Theo from looking him directly in the eye.

“Yeah, well you missed out on a lot of gifts throughout the years. Sorry, I decided to ignore that request.” Liam smiles apologetically, worry taking over his face while he waits for Theo’s response.

“You do this every year. Every year you try to make some extravagant holiday happen and it’s okay if it’s not.” He says, sitting down next to Liam and smiling.

“Yeah, but I only want it extravagant for you. Because you’re my favorite person.” Liam shrugs.

“You’re also the most annoying person.” Liam teases, smiling and laughing as Theo rolls his eyes at him.

“When I was with the dread doctors and under their guidance I didn’t do holidays. They would come and go and I wouldn’t really bat an eye at it because it didn’t matter. I didn’t have anyone that I spent the holidays with. The holidays were just another day. A reminder of what I didn’t have.” Theo explains, and the sadness that reaches Liam’s face is heartbreaking, even if it’s for Theo’s sake.

He never wants to make Liam feel bad or upset, and he’s not done with his story. There’s a point that he’s trying to make and Liam has to understand.

“I didn’t like holidays because it wasn’t important to me. I didn’t have anything important to me to make them special.” Theo says, his heart clenching as Liam becomes more distraught at his story.

“I know and I’m sorry. We should have flown.” Liam bitterly scoffs, his voice angry and his fists clenched, while he narrows his eyes.

“You’re missing the point. My holidays were nothing special because they didn’t have anyone or anything that made me want to care about them. Now I do.” Theo smiles, and the way Liam smiles at him, is enough to make Theo lighthearted and happy to be snowed in.

Theo’s never been a fan of simple things or holidays that are only a reminder of what he didn’t have, but the past few years he’s become more open to having traditions.

Something as simple as snow and being hauled up in a warm blanket with the person he can’t get out of his head, is more special to Theo than any gift he could receive. Whether it’s from Liam or not.

His heart grew bigger that day and a blue eyed werewolf is the reason.

“You. You… don’t know how to dance?” Liam asks, eyes wide with shock, almost as if he doesn’t believe that Theo is telling the truth.

“No, not really. When did I have time? When I was doing the dread doctors bidding? Who cares? There are more pressing things anyway.” Theo shrugs, looking away from the werewolf and his bright blue eyes that have become slightly more distracting recently.

Liam frowns, holding his hand out as he smiles at Theo, almost hesitant, and he allows himself to take Liam’s hand.

You Set my Heart on Fire (Thiam)

“Why did we choose this game?” Corey complains, looking at Liam with mild disdain, as he peers over his shoulder, and worry starts to covers his face. Liam would find it funny, if he wasn’t so fucken angry at a certain chimera.

Theo has never played laser tag and of course Liam wanted to show him how fun it could be because Theo should experience everything he never was able to as a child. Liam wanted to help him find his inner child again and what better way to do that than to play laser tag with all of his friends? So Liam and Mason made sure to find a way to add into their schedule this weekend and maybe the look in Theo's eyes when Liam told him they were going, melted him a bit.

Laser tag is fun and it’s one of Liam’s absolute favorite things to do, but he didn’t expect Mason and Theo to be so great at it. He assumed when he was paired with Corey it was so Mason and Liam could make sure that everyone had a fair shot at winning. What he didn’t expect was for Corey and him to be on their last lives in about ten minutes and for Mason to work so well with Theo. It was as if Theo played the game all of his life and Mason seemed to be the perfect partner to take over and win the game with.

“We’re about to lose anyway. Maybe we can split up and try to get some shots in?” Liam points out, and Corey sighs, looking as excited about this game as Liam would be about biology homework.

Liam motions for Corey to go right and he quickly heads to the left, peering around a wall to verify no one can sneak up on him. He hates losing and Corey hates being in such a competitive environment, but Liam refuses to surrender to the chimera. Especially when Theo winks at him every time he hits Liam, acting as if he is some god of laser tag. Maybe he doesn’t like this stupid game at all.

He clutches the laser gun to his chest, listening for any sound nearby and even if he is technically cheating by using his supernatural abilities, he feels it’s called for in this situation because there is absolutely no way Theo is winning this by his human abilities alone. Not when Liam has played this game since he was 12 years old. He will be damned if he lets his winning streak die today.

Liam takes a deep breath, taking a last look around the corner and behind his shoulder, before he takes a step forward. Liam walks directly into Theo.

He jumps backwards, firing his gun at Theo and he can’t help but smile in victory as the vest Theo is wearing lights up, signaling he has managed to win this round.

Theo’ eyes harden for a moment, his competitive nature ringing through, as Liam playfully smirks at him, still smug from his victory. It isn’t over yet though. He still has to manage to hit Theo another 3 times and he will, because he refuses to lose. Theo is just as competitive as him, maybe more, and he sneers at him, moving backwards. He disappears behind the wall again, letting Liam catch his breath, and he is happy he has time to figure out his strategy before he has to be quicker than Theo again.

“One down!” Theo yells out. Liam sighs as he hears a loud groan from Corey.

“I always liked this game.” Mason happily calls out, while Liam rolls his eyes at his best friend's enthusiasm. He’s very happy he’s having a good time but Liam is not having any fun playing this game. Other than a few minutes ago, when he was able to hit Theo.

Liam leans against the wall, making sure to quickly and quietly make his way around corners. He doesn’t know how long it’s been, but he manages to find his way into another room. It’s still dark and he can use his…no. No, okay he won’t. He wants to win fairly and even though Theo might be cheating since he can’t possibly be better at this than Liam, he will make sure to win as fairly as possible.

He pauses, hearing a low growl.  Goosebumps travel up his arm, his heart starts beating rapidly, as he slowly turns, aiming his gun, but his back hits the ground and all the air leaves his body. His gun flies across the floor and Liam glares at Theo sitting above him, his eyes flashing gold while he smugly smiles down at him.

“Theo. What the fuck? You’re lucky we’re the only group in here.” Liam huffs, shoving Theo off him as he sits up and feels his heart start to settle down again.

“Don’t be a sore loser Li.” Theo smirks at him, causing Liam’s breath to catch in his throat, and he wants to be mad, he really does, but Theo tilting his head at him, throwing his hands up in a sign of surrender, makes all the anger leave him.

“I’m not. You can’t use your werewolf abilities in this game.” Liam mutters, looking down at his hands and he rubs the sore red mark now forming around his knuckles.

Theo frowns, gently taking Liam’s hand, rubbing small circles over his hand gently, and Liam’s mouth runs dry as the chimera gently starts kissing his knuckles. Liam can feel the goosebumps appear across his skin again, while a small shiver comes over him and he has to remind himself to breathe. Watching Theo being so tender, almost careful with him, is making Liam’s chest ache. Ache in a way that has him almost wanting to reach out to Theo. He has to bite his lip to force himself from moving.

“Theo.” Liam almost whispers his name. Theo smiles at him, looking up, his eyes back to the soft blue with a hint of green, and Liam gently squeezes Theo's hand.

“Sorry.” Theo says softly, his eyes looking regretful as Liam tries to figure out what he’s sorry for, until Theo aims his laser at him, and shoots him directly in the chest. Liam's vest lights up, and he can feel it vibrate, letting him know that he 100% hates this fucken game.

“Are you kidding…” Liam growls, but he’s silenced when Theo’s lips meet his. The chimera pulls him closer, gently running his hand over his cheek, and making him shiver at the touch.

Laser tag was a good idea. He loves this game.

Home is Where You Are

Dropping off Liam and his friends at college wasn’t something he planned on doing, and it certainly wasn’t anything he thought he’d ever want to do, but somehow Liam has found a way to convince him. Convince him just like everything else he always convinces him of, and always in a way where Theo has no other choice but to say yes.

The things Liam asks of him has always involved spending some level of time with him. Whether it's driving him somewhere, helping him with biology homework, helping with something Stiles needs, or even advice on life in general. He’s always said yes. He isn’t the best person with life advice, but Liam wants the company more than anything else, and who is Theo to deny the person that makes him want to get up every morning.

Liam has made him soft, and those are not even his own words, they’re Corey’s. Corey and his teasing about how Theo has done a 180 in terms of his character. Always willing to help, never saying no if it involves saving Liam’s ass, which happens more often than it should, but honestly Theo would do most anything to ensure the other werewolf has made his way home safely.

A home that has now become Theo’s too. All Liam had to do was make those sad blue eyes grow wide when he learned Theo was living in his truck, and that was all it took. He didn’t even have to beg, although the chimera would never even need him to, but Liam only had to stare at him for a total of 5 seconds before he agreed to go home with him.

Corey and Mason made sure to tease him about it, and Jenna made sure to never let him leave the house without breakfast. It wasn’t terrible. Dr. Geyer was always kind and giving advice, even when Liam grumbled about it, because he was mortified that his father believed they were dating. Liam had to stop him from going into the “be safe talk”, while Theo sat in his chair laughing and earning glares from Liam the entire time.

They aren’t actually dating, but he doesn’t mind letting others think they are because it causes Liam to be enraged, and causes a good laugh for Theo. Corey and Mason will sometimes tease them about it. They know they aren’t dating, but it doesn’t stop them from pointing out everything they do, and claim that how they act is very couple-like. Theo doesn’t let it annoy him too much, even when Liam is seething about it, almost making him insulted that he’s so bent out of shape about possibly being with Theo that he has to stew about it for hours. It hurts sometimes but he gets it.

Liam has imprinted himself on his heart, maybe his very soul, always around, never letting him get a moment's peace, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s grown accustomed to Liam in the morning, eating his cereal, while he rolls his eyes about class, and Theo being cranky when he has to get up early. He's grown accustomed to him in the afternoon where Liam has to text him immediately to explain why he has found himself in the woods instead of class, trying to figure out some supernatural issue while Theo has to find him to ensure he isn’t about to come face to face with a villain that he needs help with.

Tonight though, he has agreed to watch a movie with Liam before they take off for college in the morning. He even convinced Theo to pick it, with his pouty lips, and soft blue eyes gazing back at him, creating a burning inside of his chest. One that threatens to ignite at any second, making him explode with feelings he never even knew he was capable of having until he met Liam, but he’s here now. He can’t shake him, with his chaotic ideas, angry moods, and smile that takes over whenever he teases Theo about anything.

“Are you going to turn it on, or be annoying and in your thoughts?” Liam frowns up at him, as he lays on the couch, and huffs at him for taking too long to switch on the movie.  His eyebrows are furrowed as he looks up at him.

“Maybe I should pick something else.” Theo admits, doubting his choice, and leaning back on the couch, while Liam throws up his hands in frustration.

“You’ve picked 8 different ones!” Liam sighs, dramatically throwing his arms over his face, and leaning back so his head is now laying across the chimeras lap.

Theo doesn’t move, sitting still, waiting for Liam to speak, or move, anything to help Theo from ripping the couch cushion open from having to control his heart rate from skipping in his chest. Liam looks up, smiling, raising his eyebrows and motions for him to turn it on.

It’s a good distraction from having to focus on his own actions and what Liam might hear . He turns on the movie, and rolls his eyes as A Bug’s Life flashes on the screen.  Liam was thrilled when he mentioned it. Apparently Mason and Liam have been discussing Theo and his need for children’s films that he missed out on growing up. He chose it to appease Liam and his ever growing need to help Theo learn about things he missed as a child, but as he watches the first few minutes, he doesn’t hate it.

Liam rolls over to face the TV screen, pulling a blanket over himself, and snuggling into Theo’s lap, not making any move to sit anywhere else.  Theo swallows roughly, keeping his eyes on the screen, his body from moving, and his heart from coming out of his chest from how frantically it's beating. He knows Liam must hear it, but he doesn’t say a word, not even when Jenna peaks her head in and smiles at them.

The movie goes on and Theo is able to refocus his attention on it and even shifts his legs to prevent them from falling asleep, with no help from Liam who has decided to pass out and start snoring softly. He shakes his head,  pulls the cover over Liam more firmly, and ignores the sharp pain he feels about dropping Liam off tomorrow.

He knew this day was coming, but he wasn’t expecting to be so attached to another person that he actually feels as if he’s losing something. Not being able to see Liam complain about Theo and his snarky attitude in the morning, or text him he needs to get picked up from the clinic that he wasn’t supposed to be at, is something he has gotten used to.  Liam is a presence. A presence he has grown very fond of, and one that makes the day a little better, almost bearable, even when they have nothing to do but watch a movie like this.

Theo turns the movie off. He peers over to stare at Liam. He takes in his peaceful face, the lines of his jaw, the gentle rise of his chest while he sleeps, and the messy hair he will no longer be able to see every morning. He bites his bottom lip, willing himself to get a grip, to realize he will see Liam on holidays, or even sooner if Liam has a problem and he probably will, but it’s not enough.

He’s never connected with another soul the way he has to Liam. The way he carries himself, his antics, and his way of being unapologetically him. It’s something he can barely put into words but he can feel it. Every time Liam smiles, frustrates him, calls to tell him he has another idea, or innocently looks back at him with his blue eyes when he’s trying to get Theo to agree to help him, he feels it. It’s probably the most terrifying thing he’s ever dealt with. To care. Care about someone so much that he can't see himself being without them for more than a day.

“Hey.” Theo looks down and sees Liam looking up at him, a small smile on his lips, and a yawn leaves him while Theo smiles back. Liam looks over at the TV screen and starts to get up, but Theo quickly pushes him back down gently.

Liam frowns, his face filled with confusion, as Theo clears his throat, attempting to explain himself as he nervously fiddles with the fuzz coming out of the couch. A much needed distraction while Liam continues to look up at him, his head still in Theo’s lap, looking tired but content as he smiles at Theo.

Theo.” Liam whispers, saying his name as if it’s the only one that matters at the moment and Theo can feel his heart race again, as his palms become sweaty, but he can’t even say it. Not now but maybe someday. Instead, he can say something that he wants to do.

“Just let me look at you for a little bit.” Theo whispers, gently stroking his hand through Liam’s hair, and he hears a small whimper from him, but he won’t say anything. He won’t ruin this because this….

It’s enough.

Tales of the Heart (Thiam)

A loud tapping on his truck window causes Theo to sigh, and look up to find Liam’s face peering into the window at him. He should have left town today. He knew Liam would make a big deal out of this. He takes another bite out of his wrap, letting Liam narrow his eyes at him while he impatiently waits outside. Liam jiggles the door handle, but doesn't use any supernatural strength on it, even though he could, but he knows how Theo is about his truck.

With a smirk, Theo slowly rolls down the window and gives the other werewolf a pointed look. Liam frowns, letting out a huff as he reaches into the window and presses down on the unlock button, but not before he gives Theo a small playful shove.

“I’m on my lunch break.” He complains, just as Liam rushes around to the passenger side and slides into the seat next to him. As if this is his truck too.

“I know that and I also know I had to find out from Corey what today is.” Liam folds his arms across his chest, looking irritated, and snatches a chip from Theo’s lunch.

“The reason you found out from Corey is because I don’t actually care about today. I know you.” He points out, and Liam starts to appear mildly offended, but only scoffs at him.

“I don’t know what that implies, but I am fantastic at celebrating things. You need a cake…...” Liam rolls his eyes at Theo and his panicked expression that starts to take over his face .

“Please don’t bake a cake Liam. I heard about the last time at the Hewitt’s residence. Corey said Mason’s mother almost threatened to not allow you back into the kitchen again.” Theo laughs, imagining what it would have been like to be there and see Mason’s horrified look at Liam burning a cake in the oven.

“No one is the least bit interested in my side of the story? I was going to buy one or maybe I’ll just write you a card, because I know how much you love feelings.” Liam teases, turning on the radio and settling on an alternative rock song.

“I just want to work and be left alone.” Theo sneers, earning a flash of yellow from Liam, and Theo flashes his eyes back in response, giving him a small warning.

“I don’t leave my friends alone. Besides, good memories can take away the bad ones. Assuming they are bad ones, because you don’t always volunteer your past memories.” Liam argues, snatching another chip and this time snatching it right out from Theo’s hand.  Theo notices a black bag at Liam’s feet that he didn’t see before, and he wearily stares at it.

“Because it’s none of your business. Why do you have a bag? If that’s a present I’m going to..…” Theo stops talking when Liam takes out a little plate with a small cupcake on it.

“Easy angry chimera, it's not a present. It should be though.” Liam takes out a candle from his pocket and a lighter, almost laughing when he looks back at Theo, but he manages to light the candle. He holds it out to Theo and smiles as the chimera is at a loss for words. A cupcake? Are they kids? He wants to roll his eyes at Liam, but he only can smile as a warmth spreads across his chest.

“If you sing…” Liam grabs the entire chip bag and shoves it into his bag, waiting for Theo to blow out his candle. “I won’t if you promise to tell Mason I baked this instead of telling him that I bought this at the store?” Theo isn’t in the mood to be making deals that involve Liam’s baking reputation, but he gives him a small smile and blows out the candle anyway.

“Did you make a wish?” Liam questions, taking out the candle and sliding it back into his bag.

“Yes. That I would have one day to myself.” Theo quips, taking a bite from the cupcake and savoring the chocolate frosting.

“I can’t do that.” Liam sighs, settling back into the seat and making himself comfortable. As if he belongs there, and maybe he does. Maybe he has for a while.

“I noticed.” He shakes his head at the other werewolf.

“You love me.” Liam chuckles, possibly teasing, but maybe looking for clarification on what this is, what they are, and the look of those blue eyes looking back at him, has Theo talking without thinking.

“I do.” He freezes as he realizes the words that he’s said, slowly turning to look at Liam, who is just as wide eyed as he is. Neither one of them say a word, but they both seem to understand what that single sentence implies. They sit there for a moment, neither one wanting to say anything, or ruin the moment either. Liam finally shifts in his seat.

“Then let me love you back.” Liam finally says, catching Theo’s lips, and before Theo can think too hard on it, he kisses back.  Letting his senses become filled with Liam.

Finally.

Happy Birthday. :)

You call it madness, but I call it love (thiam)

Liam blinks a few times as he frowns at the text from Theo, trying not to feel disappointed or angry about the chimera bailing on their thanksgiving plans. It’s not that he expected Theo to come anyway, and it’s not that he is disappointed by the fact he doesn’t get to see Theo today, but he’s annoyed that he felt the need to text. He could have called. He thought they were a bit closer than that.

Is your friend coming?” His mother smiles at him, the aroma of his mother’s pies hitting his nose, and if he wasn’t so mad, he’d be hungry.

“No. He decided he had plans.” He rolls his eyes, contemplating what plans Theo could possibly have that don’t involve him, and he’s not upset. He’s merely aggravated to know how Theo has friends that he doesn’t know about, because why hasn’t he been introduced?

“Oh, that’s nice. I’m sorry sweetheart.” His mother pats his shoulder and he shrugs casually, flopping onto the couch, and heaving a sigh. He flips through his phone to see Mason and Corey smiling back at him. Their yearly holiday picture always looks better each year and here he is, annoyed that a rude chimera is blowing him off. He really needs to get a grip.

Wait, no he doesn’t need to get a grip. Theo bailed on him and he completely pretended he forgot that he had plans prior to Liam asking. Theo never forgets anything and he’s always bothering Liam about every appointment or project that’s coming up in his life. Somehow he forgot he said he was coming to thanksgiving? It’s Liam’s first thanksgiving home since he left for college and he doesn’t get to not come and enjoy it with him. Because…well just because.

He grabs the keys off the counter, grabbing an entire pie from his mother along the way, and quickly slides out the back door, wondering if he can’t catch Theo in his apartment before he leaves to hang out with other people. Without him and without even so much as asking if Liam would like to join, and he wouldn’t join, but he wants the option to be able to.

His mother sighs and shakes her head at him as he closes the door, already knowing where he's going and why. That’s another thing. His mother adores Theo and it’s rude that he is bailing on her too. He opens his car door and before he can rip his hair out, he takes a deep breath, doing his best to not tear out the steering wheel while he heads over to Theo’s apartment.

The road is void of all traffic and he gets there quickly, but not quick enough to keep himself from snarling as he continues contemplating why Theo is hanging around people he has never heard of. He doesn’t have to know who they are, but he wants to know. They could be using Theo for all he knows and yes, the chimera can take care of himself but he doesn’t need to. He could just allow Liam to help him out every once in a while. Instead of threatening to rip his head off, if he so much as asks if he wants help writing a resume or help opening a door.

Pulling up into the parking lot he sees Theo sitting in the driver seat of his truck, his music playing, and the windows aren’t even up. It’s probably the coldest day of the year right now and Theo is outside with no coat just hanging out in his truck. Liam sighs and slams the door of his car and heads over to the truck.

Theo takes one look at Liam and rolls up his window, and it causes an intense rage to boil over, and it’s taking everything in him to not rip the door handle off but he refrains from it. His mother wouldn’t appreciate any fights breaking out between them today, but Liam can’t help but want to shake Theo and ask what’s he doing, and why he’s sitting in the cold, or why he isn’t on Liam’s couch with a cup of coffee. Smiling that infuriating smirk, something Liam hates and loves at the same time, but only when Theo is smirking at him.

He opens the back door and sits down, scanning the truck for any random person that Theo might be hiding, and he is satisfied when he finds nothing but an angry chimera looking back at him. His eyes flash back and forth a few times at Liam, until he sees the pie in his hand, and he snatches it from him, while still glaring at him.

“What do you want? This is private property Liam.” Theo sneers at him, studying the pie and placing it on his passenger seat. The music is still on and Liam frowns, inserting himself into the front passenger seat, careful not to sit on the pie, and annoyed at himself for not sitting there in the first place. He’s been in this seat countless times before. Even if someone was in the truck, it’s Liam’s seat.

“I want to know what plans you have and why I’m not invited?” Liam huffs out, placing the pie on the backseat and feeling his fangs side over his tongue. The scent of blood fills the truck.

“You’re incredibly nosey Dunbar.” Theo leans back in his seat, amusement lining his face, and Liam would be too if it wasn’t for the fact Theo doesn’t appear to be going anywhere at all. He’s just not going. Not coming to be with…him.

“I don’t appreciate being bailed on. I’m taking the pie back.” Liam growls out, folding his arms across his chest, and staring out the window. Theo grabs the pie and places it at his feet, his eyebrows raised as Liam does his best to remain angry, but it’s difficult because Theo doesn’t look angry at all. He’s still his snarky self, but also sad. His eyes showing hints of pain that Liam doesn’t like and wants to make go away, to disappear entirely while Theo annoys him with his arrogant attitude.

“I wasn’t bailing.” Theo defends himself, tapping his foot on the floor while Liam gives him a pointed look, and he’s still deciding if he’s taking the pie back. He takes his phone out and shoots his mother a text that he will be late and leans slightly closer to Theo, watching as he struggles to remain silent. “I don’t like today. It’s one I normally sleep through. Happy? I didn’t want to hurt your feelings and say that I didn’t want to come. Your family is all about eating together and holidays. It makes me sick.” Theo shrugs, tensing up as Liam shifts a little closer.

“You don’t have to come to everything I invite you to but why is today such a bad day? You’re scowling more than you normally do.” Liam teases, a smile forming on his lips as he does his best to lighten the mood.

“I’m not a holiday person. My family was kind of…weird when it came to spending time together. The first holiday where I didn’t sleep through it, I was given my sister's heart. It kind of hurt and it kind of killed the joy everyone goes on and one about. Stop….I don’t want pity.” Theo shoves him back towards the door, and shifts away from Liam as he turns back towards the window.

“I’m not pitying you.” Liam whispers, a deep ache building inside of him as he observes the chimera shutting down again, and he wants to reach out, wants....needs to touch him, to let him know he’s here, but he doesn’t want to push him away even more. “I want to help. Can you let me help?” He pleads with Theo, hoping desperately that this isn’t something he pushes him away on, or threatens to rip his head off, or do anything other than let Liam help. Make it better. Even if he can only just be here. In this moment. Be with Theo.

“There isn’t anything you can do. Just be you. Be Liam.” Theo says his name almost in a whisper, hesitating as the words tumble off his lips, and Liam can only stay frozen to his seat, not ready to move, but not ready to leave.

“Then just be Theo.” Liam doesn’t breathe as Theo stares back at him, his eyes studying him, and he’s not sure what that’s supposed to even mean, but it’s enough for Theo to smile. A real smile. A smile that reaches his eyes, making Liam’s heart pound and flutter, and reminding him why he’s here. The inevitable realization that anywhere Theo is Liam wants to be. He could be sitting in this truck or dying beside him. It doesn’t matter as long as Theo is next to him.

“You’re not taking the pie.” The chimera smirks at him, smugness radiating off him as Liam opens his mouth to argue, but quickly closes it when he knows Theo is right.

“You’re not sitting here all night. We don’t have to go back to my house but you aren’t spending tonight alone. “ Liam leans closer again, paying attention to see if Theo tries to move away, or tenses up again, but he only nods in agreement.

Liam carefully moves closer, almost halfway across the middle console, keeping his eyes on Theo and his body language for any sign of panic, or nervousness at being so close. He aches to touch Theo, to convince him to let himself have this, and to let Liam reach out to him. He can’t risk Theo closing off again, but he might die at that thought of not being able to fix this.

Theo catches his eye, tilting his head slowly to the side, unmoving, and Liam doesn’t breathe, doesn’t flinch, letting himself slowly reach out to him.  He slowly moves his hand, letting it slowly reach Theo as he places it next to his, brushing softly along his skin, noticing the goosebumps and a small shiver coming off Theo. He flinches, and Liam almost pulls away until he feels Theo lean into the touch.

A thrill flutters through him as he keeps his hand next to Theo, and it’s not much, not really anything at all, but it’s exactly everything and more. He doesn’t dare move in fear of ruining this moment, or it being perceived he’s had enough. Enough of Theo, or enough of his touch, and it sounds comical when he thinks about it. About having enough of Theo or anything that involves the chimera. He could never have enough or ever be tired of him. He sounds like a middle schooler again, but anything with the chimera makes his mind unbalanced and his emotions all over the place.

Maybe this is what his mother meant when she said he would know when he found his person. Theo is his person. Or his chimera. He won’t ruin this moment. He could….he finally moves, letting his hand graze Theo’s cheek, and move along his jaw, his entire body vibrating with excitement at finally being here. Finally.

The sharp intake of Theo’s breath causes him to suck in his own breath, and he waits. Waits for Theo to push him away, or let him in.  He begs the universe for Theo to let him in. He can’t handle being shut out again, but he would still follow the smug chimera around everywhere to just see him look at Liam like this again.

Like he’s everything and more. Please please please—- he wants to beg, but he remains silent, on the verge of breaking into thousands of little pieces as he waits for Theo to give him a sign, or some signal that this is okay. That he’s not misreading their relationship entirely.

Liam is almost sitting on Theo at this point and he can hardly believe he’s gotten himself here, to this moment in time.  It’s almost killing him not to move any closer, but he waits. He’s been waiting since the elevator during the supernatural war, and he’s fairly certain he won’t die from want, but he very well might explode in a moment.

Theo places his hand on Liam’s, lacing his fingers through his, and maybe it’s the smile on Theo’s lips, or the gentle rain starting to pelt the window, that creates a fog around him and lets him feel certain of what the chimera is thinking, but he lurches forward.

The moment his lips crash into Theo he lets out a small whine, and finally he can let himself relax, and he places his hand along Theo’s waist. His breathing comes out ragged as he has to breathe in air every minute or so. He clutches at Theo’s side, and little whimpers leave his lips as he deepens the kiss, sliding his fingertips along Theo’s jaw.

Please please please he can’t help but think, his entire mind and senses overwhelmed with Theo. He can feel and hear his own heart pounding in his chest. Theo’s own heart is beating rapidly in his chest and he wants to calm him down, but he’s also too gone to even do anything other than kiss the chimera.

The heat of Theo’s skin touch’s his hand and Liam sighs at the contact, unable to form any coherent thought other than Theo.

Theo shifts underneath him and as he pulls away briefly to catch his breath, all he sees is Theo looking back at him.

Excerpt from new chapter:

He frowns at Liam just as he gives Theo a small smirk, his face lighting up as he gently pries the chimera's hands from the steering wheel. The soft touch of Liam’s hand against his causes a small shiver to run down his spine.

Theo has never let anyone drive his truck. The thought alone makes him want to hide it away because it’s the one thing that is his. It’s something he has earned and bought. He didn’t have to steal it from someone else or manipulate his way to get it. Even so, even with the thought of not allowing anyone else to drive his truck, he still hands over the keys to the other werewolf
