What hits me is that, in the first case, no one would dismiss the theory that the Doctor was clearly trying to hide his excitement, because it's the Doctor and it's River, you know; and yet let's just deny the second is also the case, because it's Dean and Cas and we all know how heterosexual Dean is, because he sleeps with women, duh, and they're just best friends, I mean, dude, it's not like Dean needs Cas and Cas knows exactly how many freckles there are on Dean's face.
