Fact number two establishing the parallel: William and Afred are in an unrequited love relationship with, respectively, Daisy and Ivy; nevertheless, they both ask their love interest to get married to them, but the girls say no because they don't love them that way.
If William/Alfred and Daisy/Ivy are parallels of each other, it's only rational that Thomas is Jimmy's parallel.

I don't watch DA but I remember reading that the actor playing Matthew didn't want to play Matthew anymore.
Yeah, I imagined that much, because I don't think the writers would have just killed him off .-. Still, I find it a pretty awful finale (and also anticlimactic tbqh...)
