   There it was.

   Sprawled on the napkin accompanying your coffee mug was the fourth pun of this week alone. Everyday you swung by this little café on the way home and everyday your barista had a new one tailored around your name. Each pun was somehow even more unique than the ones prior and required just that much more research. While you felt fluent in Korean, he had you second guessing yourself.

   On top of that was the mystery of where he was storing them. He didn't always write them down. Most of the time he'd announce it to the entire café. Did he have a notepad or a piece of paper behind the counter ready with a comprehensive list just waiting for your next encounter? Or was his memory so good that he could store a plethora of worthless wordplay? Perhaps he wrote them all on napkins and decided on the fly whether or not to yell it for the world to hear or surprise you with it under your mug.

   With a raised brow and a slight twitch of the eye, you thanked him for the drink and sat down. His stupid, perfect smile radiated throughout your mind. How someone could be so beautiful boggled you. It also irritated you. Here he was day in and day out screwing up your name as part of some game and you couldn't even stay angry at him, not when his smile was so damn cute and dazzling. It disarmed you and all you could do was thank him and come back the next day to repeat the cycle.

Every inch was covered. Even the metal beneath was hidden under glass vases. Within a few steps of your cubicle, the sweet fragrance of fresh rose water lingered in the air. Petals decorated your computer, keyboard, and chair. A letter caught your eye, placed off to the side of your computer and resting against one of the vases.

   No expense was spared on the stationery. The envelope itself was pristin, a soft pink exterior with delicate swirls around the edges. Then there was your name in what looked like gold, sprawled across the front in elaborate letters. You wondered if a professional calligrapher had written it. It was flawless, not a letter out of place and not a stray mark to be found.

   Upon opening the envelope, you noticed the inside was a darker pink. The letter itself was white. It was the kind of white that hurt your eyes; it was too light, too bright even. In direct contrast were the ruby red letters sprawled across the page. While not quite as immaculate as your name, the strokes and letters on the page were just as beautiful.

   From just a glance, you could tell that it wasn't rushed. You could only imagine how much time went into perfecting it. The scent of rose perfume, though light and almost indiscernible, wafted from the letter. Absentmindedly, your thumb rubbed against the edge as you held it between your fingers.
