'nobody's gonna call you frog/frogself irl lol' did you know. did you know that auxiliary(link) pronouns are a thing, and neopronoun users tend to have them? did you know that people like me will accept the usage of 'normal' pronouns in the place of our heavily preferred neopronouns, because we know how much hassle it can be to get people to use them? did you know that we also fucking exist in the real world, or have you convinced yourself that neopronouns are simply an online fad only seen in online spaces?

#I love that auxiliary pronouns exist.

#auxiliary is such a beautiful word.

Yasmin Benoit is a writer and asexual activist, btw. She often gets a lot of shit for dressing 'sexy' and people trying to say she's not valid as an asexual person for it, but she is 1000% valid AF and an ace icon. She's a model and enjoys clothes and outfits that are body affirming for her and feel good to her to be in, it is not sexy or 'trashy' to dress how you like to dress, nor is it her responsibility if other people find her sexually attractive. She's just living her best life and I freaking love that for her.

Also regular reminders that:

  • Black people can be asexual and are 1000% valid AF (racism + fetishization makes this necessary to point out)
  • People you find sexually attractive can be asexual and are 1000% valid for it
  • No one is required to indulge any sexual attraction you have for them regardless of your sexuality or theirs
  • Asexual people can and do have sex - there are asexual sex workers y'know & ace folks in partnerships with children
  • Asexual people who are sex repulsed and do not have sex are just as valid as aces who are sex favourable or indifferent
  • Allosexual people who are sex repulsed are also valid and it doesn't mean they're asexual by default. Attraction and action are two different things
  • Asexuality is a whole ass spectrum of identities and belongs under the LGBTQ+ umbrella
#Ace and Aero people and creatures are valid.
#like forever times infinity valid.
# And honestly, I don't fuck with labels or pronouns. I find them cumbersome and archaic. However, I will respect other people's affiliation with labels and pronouns; if a person finds them useful or likes using them, I will respect a persons' use of labels and pronouns. Like, you do you friend.
#Personally, I think labels are basically garbage and cause more problems than they should. But if pronouns and identity labels are important to someone, I will 100% respect their usage. I will not deadname or misgender on purpose. I understand why labels and pronouns are important to others, and I respect that, but they are not important to me.
#and if someone gets your identity wrong, don't let it bother you. Don't give your power away. It's a skill issue on their part. Stay true to yourself.
#You are valid.

Went on a small adventure to Jack London State Park today..er..yesterday.(it's 2:36am and I should be asleep) The park is a beautiful place, but my main point of interest was Wolf House. I read online that Wolf House is supposedly haunted, so I took the opportunity to check out the ghost vibes.
Wolf House was London's dream house, but it caught fire before completion.
It would have been an amazing house, but now it's just stone ruins.
I don't think any of my photos captured anything paranormal. These are just a selection of the photos I took. I made a short video too.
But I did have a moment where I caught a shadow in the corner of my eye.
However, it was not a definitive shadow. Peripheral vision is not always reliable. It could have been a large bug flying past, like a butterfly or dragonfly. A bird fluttering past? Another park goer walking back up the path? Eye floaters? Maybe just my brain doing stupid brain stuff.
But the shadow was quiet. A bird's wings would have made sound. The sound of footsteps would have been made by a park goer. No sound. Just a shadow in the corner of my right eye.
It was peaceful rather than spooky, and I didn't really pick up on any ghosty vibes. But my time at the ruins was all too brief. However, I did get a sense that spirits were there. Whose spirit is hard to say, but it was easy to imagine Jack London's spirit is there.
There is a difference between your imagination creating a sense of spirit and your senses preciving the paranormal. I could imagine Jack's spirit wandering about, and I could imagine why people say Wolf House is haunted. But did I actually sense or experience anything paranormal?
Jack asked that his ashes be spread in this very spot, and to have a stone from the ruins of Wolf House be placed on top. So, it makes sense his spirit would still be part of the land he loved so much. Jack also wanted to be buried close to the Greenlaw children. No doubt, Jack is not the only spirit that inhabits the park.
The park is also within the ancestral territory of the Coast Miwok (California First Nations), so I don't doubt there are multiple spirits roaming as freely as the park goers.
So. I didn't have a definitive paranormal experience. I didn't "see" a ghost or experience any distinct activity. But, if I had more time and went a little slower (I was with others), I might have gotten a stronger reading. I definitely walked away thinking, yep this place is haunted. I had a visceral feeling that it is, but that's subjective rather than conclusive. I'll have to return in the future.
#note I am aware that Jack London was an imperfect human person, but is a part of local California history.
