I wore glasses with an outdated prescription for years. They gave me a headache so if I was just around my house I rarely had them on, and since I worked from home I was always around the house. Things were blurry but I got by. Last month I got a new pair and I guess my eyes are compensating less and without them I'm now that kid in a horror movie who smashes their specs and stumbles around with their hands outstretched, making frightened noises.
If you’ve been gazing longingly at those glossy, colorful Tide Pods but your concerns about kashrut have been holding you back… Rabbi Yehuda Shurpin has you covered.
Though in the true spirit of Judaism I'm still not 100% sure what the answer is. I'm going to stick to shots of peppermint Dr. Bronner's.
"The cabbalist is not content with being confined to what he is. His desire is not only to know more than what ordinary reason has to offer, but to be more than what he is; not only to comprehend the Beyond but to concur with it." --Abraham Joshua Heschel, "The Mystical Element in Judaism"

Yiddish Language Poster, “Remember Once and For All: Spitting On the Floor Is Loathsome and Shameful - Don’t Do It!“ 1923
“Magic is a practice and its language is performative: words are a form of action. Rather than describing reality, magical speech strives at generating a defined change. But it also is intended to communicate. The Jewish worldview ascribes high significance to various hidden entities in general, and in particular to their influence on human life. Foremost among these is the Lord. Subordinated to Him are the archangels, countless hosts of heavenly angels and other heavenly powers, such as the constellations and planets (once thought of as living entities). On earth, myriads of demons and other maleficent spirits dwell side by side with human society. At the margins exist the deceased. These entities are directly addressed by the magical oaths or adjurations, through which the practitioner tries to gain control over and then to enlist them at his service, or to expel them.”
