I use ClipStudioPaint! I used to be a diehard medibang user until 2020 when I bought CSP. I use a lot of the 3d modeler tool and other pose refs from creators such as JookPubStock and Adorkastock. And for my tablet, I use a XP-Pen Deco 03 Wireless Tablet, I bought it about a year ago due to breaking my other XP-Pen that had a wire LOL. I'm a leftie so I keep everything on my left hand side lol and my tablet is "upside down" to right handers

Thanks for waiting too!! <3 HOPEFULLY this is Yandere enough lol, It's been a hot minute since I've drawn Au Yumoto all crazy (since his lore in the AU is so convoluted just his powers didn't come in correctly so now when he emotional, he lowkey is how he was in berserk mode)

HI YES HELLO this is my theory on why I believe Yumoto Hakone is the strongest Battle Lover and no one can prove me wrong unless you too think something different and in that case, okay I believe you.

In BOTH Seasons, Yumoto gets his powers FIRST.

So, let's ignore the fact right now that his brother was Maximum Gorar (until later) and let's look at s1 as a whole. Already in s1ep1 we see Yumoto naturally adapt to being a Battle Lover and the others note this as well. He even punches the monster after using the Love Attack for the first time and this kid IS NOT someone who hits people. (He does throw a kick too in s1ep5)

Then if we go to S1ep8, Yumoto shoots the monster out of their house to the SCHOOL.

In the s1 finale, Yumoto blocks Kinshiro's attack with Atsushi like it's basically nothing and they only get pushed back due to the force of it all (Although you can see some strain on his face, but Yumoto's attack seems even stronger than Atsushi's here).

Yumoto even blocks Gora's attacks like they're nothing with his own Love Stick and even the Love Staff. He even takes care of Zundar and Hireashi on his own for a hot minute.

Let's skip to s2, we see right away that Yumoto is pretty strong (Atsushi does outshine him a tad in the first ep). Yumoto's strength is shown a lot as the season goes on

In s2ep9, Yumoto's own attack evolves into the Love Sprinkle (Which we don't see again, BOO), this attack is JUST as strong as the Love Attack but not healing enough on its own as True Love Fountain

The s2 finale i've talked about tO DEATH but I want to really focus on his attacks in s2ep11, he is the first to attack but the last to fall. He withstands more attacks than the others it seems and ONLY falls once he is attacked with basically bombarded with a super strong attack by the VEPPer

And we all know berserk Yumoto so I'm going to skip the photos for this scene (lol), we see Yumoto panic so hard and so much that we see actually what happens when a Battle Lover gets super deep into their emotions. My favorite thing too, WHEN Yumoto turns Ultra More Better, Zundar AND Dadacha scream, "NOT AGAIN!" and Kinshiro actually looks very HOPEFUL when Yumoto does and is stunned (KinMoto fans REJOICE)

OKAY now to THE OVA!!

Yumoto is such a badass in the OVA when they let him. NOT ONLY does he block attacks with ease but he EVEN helps the twins and IF YOU WATCH, in the OVA, Yumoto NEVER talks to them or even stands near them until he protects them which starts the final stages of the fight. We see how Yumoto can throw out strong attacks and can block EVEN stronger attacks.

He even instigates healing the monster when they're in civilian form <3

TO ME, Yumoto is the strongest Battle Lover, EMOTION wise. Atsushi does note that Yumoto's powers come from his own emotions during the berserk scene. Even when he's knocked down, he usually can get right back up if needed.

In fact, I do enjoy the scenes when Yumoto DOES get knocked back, because it does show, even someone as powerful as Yumoto can fall before getting back up. Yumoto is supposed to be this show's Sailor Moon, and you know, I like that he's NOT a carbon copy, sure, he's strong, sure, he sometimes cries and sometimes doesn't win at the start, but he does NOT back down!

Yumoto is a 16-year-old by the end of the series and I would really love to see the movie elaborate on his own strength and even the others, they deserve to shine.

Just a theory I started in Dec. 2016....

So, what if the Battle Lovers’ brooches were like connected to their hearts (end 2016 sentence lol), think about it. Their bracelets...are on their LEFT arms and what is your left arm connected to? Say it with me guys, YOUR HEART. 

Now, it does make a lot more sense why Haru aimed at Yumoto’s chest. Their source of power is love and love comes from the heart where there is no love we must provide it, and where there is love, we must live on.

so, if their bracelets ARE connected to their hearts, would they feel pain in their chest too due to the alert? uhh, not sure as we see Ryuu just say they hurt and he flutters his wrist around like it's the world's most annoying shock ever.

We can see clearly that it does sting, and I imagine it's PROBABLY like being shocked by one of those period cramp simulators (lmao).

Not to sound like Wombat, but, love itself isn't particularly painful so, it would make sense that it doesn't hurt the heart.

A good point to add in this theory is, it really makes sense once you learn Yumoto's powers are love based in the OVA as his heart is heavy with grief and loss of love, that he can't even get himself TO attack as his own love was weighed down by sadness.

And when emotions are HIGH, Yumoto (And presumably the OTHER BATTLE LOVERS) can cause MASSIVE damage. Which actually we can see in s2ep1 with ATSUSHI (I just realized this while writing), as his attack is VERY strong and Ryuu notes "don't piss him {Atsushi} off."

S2ep7, the BLs heal a monster with JUST their love as well and this also reoccurs in the OVA.

AND with s2 ep 9....with Yumoto's love he has an ENTIRELY NEW ATTACK.

And with the infamous berserk Yumoto scene

AND FINALLY, when the Battle Lovers turn MORE BETTER in both seasons, Yumoto's love for his friends, and his friends' love for him help them unlock their highest forms and heal up those who need it most.

So, yes I do actually believe in this theory. I know it is PROBABLY actually fairly easy to spot but I haven't been able to properly figure out how to write this out so I left this draft sitting since Dec. 2016.

Maybe the movie will give us more information but, it would be interesting to see if something of the sort to happen considering the theory of the Aye-Aye.

or I'm just again looking too deep into a show lmao....maybe I'll get into my theory of the Throne of Love soon too.

HOLO!!! <3 You're welcome, I am literally so HYPERFIXATED on Yumoto it's not even funny. I REALLY resonate with him mostly because like him, my older sister is all I have (well minus my extended family) so I feel I just relate to him in a weird way. I DO plan on drawing some more of him PRETTY soon (Hopefully tonight i can get started on it bc I HAVE IDEAS). I also have another theory that I've had hiding in my drafts since 2019ish (or so, I can't remember; edit it was from 2016 lol) and I REALLY hope I can actually get my mind onto making it make sense LOL. I just love drawing Yumoto, I need to draw more of canon Yumoto, I've been writing a lot of my AU (and it'll be ten years old in THREE YEARS!!!).

I have a theory, a new one. So you know in s1ep10, Yumoto gets these glasses and he's acting different and SCARED of the monster.

I believe that Yumoto IS ACTUALLY scared of them. not like as bad as he was in that ep, but still frightened of them.

Why do I say this? Well, it hints at in s2's first episode from WHEN the monster comes, Yumoto freezes and says that he FORGOT to breathe because the monster startled him THAT much.

This isn't something that we usually think when we think of Yumoto who's supposed to be fearless.

We do see in the s2ep3 flashback, that Yumoto was a sensitive child (me too), and even if you read one of the novels (I believe in novel one) Gora talks about how Yumoto as a child once cried for a while after realizing a steamed manju wasn't actually a steamed manju bun at the place they were at.

BUT if you go to s2ep5, Yumoto DOES "act" scared of the boba monster, but if you recall in ep3, Yumoto is a TERRIBLE actor. So, why would he suddenly be GOOD at acting when we know he's just mediocre at best sorry Yumoto.

IN FACT, Yumoto does NOT transform here, he RUNS AWAY. He could have easily transformed in front of the monster since Munakata was flung out the window and the gym is completely empty minus him and the monster.

Even in the OVA he DOES seem a bit (MORE) Nervous around the monster before he's out-spoken by the monster BUT this could actually be because he realized he fucked up and he knows that he did.

But ADRI, didn't he face a monster in s1ep8 ALONE, I hear you say? Yeah, you know he did, but you know what my theory is? I believe that up UNTIL ep 10, he does NOT realize how actually scared he is until he somehow got the glasses. I wonder too, if Yumoto is more apprehensive around monsters due to his brother being turned into one in the s1 finale, as he sees first hand what happens to those who are turned into loveless monsters.

To which, I say, yes because this would actually terrify anyone and I hadn't really thought of that until now.

But I truly believe Yumoto is actually scared while facing monsters WHILE in civilian form, when he's BL Scarlet, we don't see him this way because he knows he could do serious damage towards a monster.

It has been....twice...three times? for me?

LET ME FINALLY GIVE MY THOUGHTS ON THIS SCENE RIGHT HERE. Hi I am obsessed with this scene for absolutely no reason. I have MANY THOUGHTS on it and I want to share my analysis on this entire minute scene. It has been almost EIGHT YEARS NOW since it aired (Sorry some of this got formatted weird by Tumblr hhhhh)

Right here, you can see the moment where Yumoto's heart just drops into his stomach and he realizes he MAY actually lose for the first time ever as a Battle Lover (Which would be A VERY INTERESTING THING to see!)

Now why do they show him in the past? It shows that this is a REAL fear of his, losing Gora is such a big deal to him. This MAY have happened before at home but as a child, this scene takes place during the events we saw with the tiny Beppu bros in ep 10. Where he was left alone

Starting off with this, WHERE is this coming from? Well, Sailor Moon S1Ep1, we see Usagi having an attack JUST like this, and it is a defensive attack, which I believe Yumoto's own attack was based on. Wombat MUST have known about this, I believe he NEVER thought it would occur

The others are confused at this new power (Power #5 for Yumoto in s2) meanwhile, the twins are horrified/even MORE angry at him. Aki tells Haru to not falter and Haru tries to shoot Yumoto in the chest to stop/fatally injure him at this point

Atsushi mentions Yumoto has stronger emotions compared to the VEPPer (He shames them btw), we learn in the OVA, Yumoto's powers are loved based, we DO get hints of in ep9 when Yumoto performs his Love Sprinkle attack. En notes that the twins underestimated how strong Yumoto is

To me, this is just a VERY extreme panic attack but since his powers are with love, it is amplified due to his love for Gora. Kinshiro notes that both past and current Yumoto are merging. I HC that Yumoto was always destined to become Scarlet, so this moment has taken him back to the time when he was a child and this has somehow made itself known in the universe. This could be a result from the alien technology (or could just be nothing and Im looking too deep into a single line)

Everyone isn't sure WHAT is going on, Ryuu tells him to get a grip after he learns Yumoto is "Losing himself to fear" and tries to touch him. As we see when Haru tried to hit Yumoto, this power is actively protecting Yumoto while doing damage to anyone who tries to hurt him. I actually find this to be SUPER interesting

It's more interesting when he calms down after the twins realize how strong he is, I believe this is his true anger over the entire situation. By this point Yumoto is sick of it, he has been fighting these two for so long over his own brother. He has almost been killed and now He's ready to do the same to them. When the boys all come running to stop Yumoto, they all have different expressions (Can't see Io's :(( ) The twins though, are horrified as they know if they get hit, THEY ARE DONE FOR! (It's finEEEE)

En's first thought is to grab Yumoto to try to calm him down somewhat by grounding him back to reality

Atsushi (just like a mom as Yumoto says about him) gently grabs Yumoto's face and tries to get him to look at him, while also shielding him from either himself or another attack from the twins. You can actually see him and Io pulling Yumoto closer to them

Ryuu and Wombat don't add much, BUT Ryuu does actually support Yumoto's head when they all fall onto the ground. Which Yumoto's head SHOULD be in Ryuu's lap (In theory).

As for the dark place? Yumoto probably experienced a severe form of tunnel vision along with the influence of his powers. IMO, He was so overwhelmed with the thought of losing his only family forever that he forgot about his found family as well.

adding to how Yumoto is being held, Ryuu seems to have Yumoto's forearms pinned, Io has his arms around Yumoto's chest, and En and Atsushi I CAN'T really see where they're grabbing at but it but it does show you even with their strength it takes all four of them to subdue Yumoto

And uhhh I think that's it really for this scene...for now... Once Yumoto remembers how he's loved by his friends and he's not alone, he transforms into his highest form to date :)))) also these frames of him are pretty lol this scene had a lot of gorgeous frames OKAY BYE!

Mostly bc the lyric "Children with their toys in war" really just gives me Wind/young Time vibes

We don't talk enough about how cunning Aki and Haru were in the s2 finale against Yumoto.

They basically break him physically in the start. Easily overpowering him by their pure (petty) hatred

Then when they're interrupted, the twins know they have to change strategies with more physical force to try to keep Gora for themselves. Haru basically mocks Yumoto here, to in a way, distract him from his end goal of saving Gora.

By wearing Yumoto down, physically and mentally, Aki and Haru decide to unleash the thing they know would fully break him, which is losing Gora.

They do this sort of unintentionally, and end up panicking as they realize how they shouldn't have fucked with this kid. Even Atsushi notes on how sensitive Yumoto's own emotions are and how Yumoto's would overpower the twins'

I can't give the twins all of that credit but, I think they had a decent plan thought up when they would be fighting the Battle Lovers. They just didn't know what powers Yumoto's own emotions actually held.

But, I can at least say, this finale could have been a lot darker
