i actually don't think it's unreasonable to have lines between "kinks that are weird and gross to YOU but are perfectly harmless and you should mind your own business" and "kinks that are weird and gross but in a way that's actually tangibly harmful and you should probably have a problem with" like yes there will always be weird puritanical people who think that a fart fetish is the exact same level of "degeneracy" (which is a weird you should never use btw) as actual pedophilia, but like i don't think the solution to people being prudish about sex should be the opposite extreme of having 0 standards. it's kinda lazy in my opinion.
i've seen this trend of people on tumblr posting "people who have weird sex fetishes are a key part of the community and alienating them is not going to make straight people like you more" or some variation of that discourse which like yes i agree that people with weird sex fetishes are cool, but than someone will asks"ok but pedophilia and incest is bad, right?" which in case like 99 percent of the time op is like "um can't believe you completely missed the point of the post" and it's like uh no actually that bit is actually very important and kind of recontextizes the entire post because the fact that you include "incest and raceplay and lolicon porn" on the same level as like. pupplay or gaining is like. an issue. like people in extremely kink positive standards still have basic standards and guidelines to prevent potential abuse, there's a reason alot of kinksters got really pissed at 50 shades of grey, or why there's guides for impact play so you don't permanently scar your partner, there are still like. basic accountability guys???
