omfg while i was waiting in line a lady came up to me and asked who we were waiting for. when I told her darren criss she laughed and said “that’s so weird I went to school with him." so I was like ???? no way which school and she said she went to university of michigan and darren was in her tap class. so now I’m like !!!!!! “do you have any stories?" and i swear to god she shrugged and said “i don’t know i mean he was a giant stoner" AND I LAUGHED SO HARD WOW but I managed to ask if he was any good at tap and she just kind of shook her head ‘no’ (figured) and yes that is my story from the concert line enjoy

[Darren and Chris] were absolutely darling. I will tell you something: I’d forgotten that Darren did this, that he went on Wikipedia and he added to my profile saying something about us doing Glee. I forgot that people can go on and write whatever they want on someone’s page, so I’m hoping that they did right by me.

every day I thank the fandom gods for giving us darren

who doesn’t talk shit about people and instead chooses to give everyone their due praise as a rule (even if he doesn’t agree with them) and knows how to fucking handle himself in front of other people and when to keep his mouth shut 

and who doesn’t care about allegations that he’s gay, or give a shit about rumors about him in general and knows how to laugh them off, and respects others on a basic level that apparently many celebs can’t seem to fathom

like jesus seriously no wonder everyone’s so hearteyes over him

Many years ago, I lived with Darren for a summer. Basically, I started telling him about our ideas for The Very Potter Musical; a musical about Harry Potter. This was a year before we actually did it. And Darren starting saying like, “Oh yeah, yeah, yeah that’s pretty cool, I was thinking about writing two Harry Potter themed songs.” And he wanted to write one where Harry Potter was just a metaphor in the songs that he was writing. And one was a song called ‘Goin’ Back to Hogwarts’ that was about, you know, going back to your childhood and going back to your friends and stuff like that. And then he was like, “Then I want to write a song called ‘I Was Harry Potter’. Where it’s about you losing everything and about how you used to be a cool guy and now you’re a loser”. Those were his two ideas for Harry Potter themed songs. And then when we were doing the first one we were like, “Hey let’s use your idea for that song ‘Goin’ Back to Hogwarts’ and that’ll be the beginning of the show”. And he was like, “Yeah sure okay”. And in this one, we were like, let’s use the ‘I Was Harry Potter’ idea. This was also when we made up the show, right after the sequel was done; we assumed that Darren would be writing music for it, but he ended up not being able to.

Our clearest memory of the show, we think, will be when Darren broke character a tiny bit, for a moment alone on that stage, saying thank you and goodbye, and that it had been “totally awesome.” Just those two words, he looked the audience in the eye and used his natural voice. That was for us and I don’t think that anyone there will ever forget it, because Darren will always be in StarKid, but things are changing from here on out and he will never be our Harry again.
