i realized a couple months back, after telling a commenter that i would Never Ever do it, that if i did a plisetsuki fic as though yurio had written it i could call it Write Drunk and it would be the soul sequel of Edit Sober.
they each set up their own respective pairing weeks. they flood the kink memes (DO THOSE STILL HAPPEN). it starts with a plisetsuki soulmate fic that happens to mention how pathetic minami kenjiro is, fawning over yuuri like a stalker (GLASS HOUSES). it escalates with a yuujiro soulmate au where yuuri tells kenjiro he’s the hero of japan now just like yuuri always knew he would be.
the minami/yuuri fics are 10% saccharine sweet. 90% of them are super dirty. 100% of the yuri/yuuri fics involve praise kink in some way. there are no updates in this very serious and intense war starting the day of Yuuri and Viktor’s bachelor parties, but tmz does make a post about figure skaters Yuri Plisetsky and Minami Kenjiro engaging in sloppy makeouts behind a paris nightclub where it is rumored figure skaters, living legends and gay icons katsuki yuuri and viktor nikiforov were celebrating their combined bachelor parties. (viktor’s was supposed to be somewhere else but he got lonely and crashed yuuri’s instead. the strippers chris got ended up feeding makkachin steak tips all night, listening to viktor drunkenly opine on yuuri’s musicality, and taking notes as yuuri gave his future husband a gold medal lap dance for like two hours)
the fandom figured those two very anonymous authors were just too shook by the drama to keep writing.
THEREALnumberoneyuurifan kept posting pictures of katsuki yuuri’s sleeping face he said he got from Nameless Sources through all of this, up to the day before the wedding when his husband put up a message on his twitter that said they were going to be busy for a few weeks but not to worry.
