It's finally time for the Hyrule water theory
So this comes from an observation I made during last year's trailer
If you're anything like me and cheesed the dungeon with Zora armour, you'll remember there's a LOT of water around this castle. In fact, you can kind of see it a bit in the trailer before the entire thing gets lifted out of the air.
You can also see it on the map. Now I thought, given the sudden lack of huge waterfalls, 'so what happened to all that water?' This led to... quite a long trek around Hyrule, where it became clear to me that most major river systems run through that castle moat.
To cut a long investigation short, I kind of figured that most of Hyrule's water must be sourced from the East Reservoir in Zora's domain. The alternative would be Hyrule Castle itself. This made a lot of sense and I just moved on with life, though I never quite forgot about this idea.
This is now relevant again
Now it's only visible for like, a frame. But... ENHANCE
Isn't this river looking... awful patchy to you? Keep in mind, given the angle, this should be the wetlands. You can kind of see it.
I'm fully prepared for this to just be some sort of rendering thing, but I can't seem to stop thinking about how disruptive to the are around the castle this is. And Nintendo have clearly chosen washed out lighting on purpose, but the area around Hyrule field looks pretty dry.
Since Zonai are confirmed at this point, this leads me to think about Faron, which is incidentally where a lot of the floating islands seem to be. Arguably, Zonai are easy to associate with water. I can't help but wonder if the river system around Faron (and Lake Hylia!) might be dried up, or else extra areas are now accessible (and a way to below Hyrule?).
Whatever the case, there just feels like something is going on with this water.
