Ghostbusters Halloween Appreciation Post
This movie was so goddamn important.
More of my children!!!
i just.. wanted… to post this… because…the science dance is great.
I had a good job at the MTA. Was it perfect? No! But everybody was alive.
the gayest part of ghostbusters 2016 is after erin dives into the vortex thing and saves abby when they hold each other in their arms and look in each others’ eyes for like 10 seconds (aka where they would kiss if erin was a guy.) the second gayest part is holtzmann’s existence. the third gayest part is at the end when the four of them are standing on the roof and abby and erin are next to each other both wearing plaid flannels and then they put their arms around each other Again
the fourth gayest part is the fact that Patty refers to Holtzmann pretty much exclusively as either “Holtzy” or “Baby”.
My favorite part of Ghostbusters was when they were trying to find the ghost below the concert and Patty walks by the room of mannequins and says “Nope. That’s a room full of nightmares.” And just KEEPS ON WALKING. Like I have been waiting MY WHOLE LIFE for a character to be like “well fuck that” and just not fucking deal with it, like the ghost had to come and get her and she outran the bitch
This picture just suddenly sharp-struck home how much this movie is going to mean to young girls and I am warmed like sunlight.
yesterday i saw this billboard at the train station and it threw me for a loop man
it was so weird seeing the setup flipped; where the women are the ones in loose, professional clothing striking intense poses wearing intense expressions
and then there is one man in an elegant, formfitting outfit with a strict pose and attractively neutral expression with a cutesy hand gun and generally unsuitable equipment solely for eye candy
wild
I just saw ghostbusters. I am literally sitting here stunned and amazed. There was not one fat joke. Not a single one. I was waiting in the theater braced the entire time for jokes towards Patty and Abigail for their size, and there wasn’t a single one.
…kind of in awe, honestly.
They also showed all the ladies eating in the movie. No jokes about eating and getting fat, just, women eating food. Messily. Not sexily. Like normal people.
There was a scene with the table covered in pizza boxes after a long day. No jokes. Just, they had dinner together. Women … eating food … like normal people. Not to be sexy or make a fat joke. Because they’re humans who require food.
take a look at this and realize how low the standard is for female representation in films
Leslie Jones is a beautiful and talented human being and doesn’t deserve any of the shit she’s getting. no one does.
please take a minute to send her all the love in the world #LoveForLeslieJ
fxxk ghosts get money
