aaaa look at my beautiful new son
Big Bettas are Back! I’ve made new ones (plus two new designs) and they’re available here: https://www.palaeoplushies.com/ I gave the pink one googly eyes. They’re plastic safety eyes just like the others, but they’re GOOGLY.
If you’re looking at these pics like, “dude why didn’t you close your shades and clean the glass,” 1. the shades are those woven ones you have to tie and untie and I’m a lazy shit. 2. I actually DID try to clean it but didn’t notice that I made everything worse until after I started taking photos and if you know how hard getting a good pic of a fish is you’ll know why I didn’t retake them. Aaaand also I’m a lazy shit.
ANYWAY, I thought I’d put these up since I haven’t posted photos of my tanks in... uhhh... idk man, probably forever. Still trying to fill in the back of the big tank with plants, it’s a slow process since I’m taking bits and pieces from the existing ones to fill the space instead of buying more, haha. Could probably get another amazon sword, though.
Fish update: I got a 5 gallon tank for my betta since the 2-ish gallon one was getting hard to maintain. He kept getting fin rot no matter how clean I kept the water, so after treating him I moved him to the new tank, and he’s doing much better! He loves resting on the leaves up near the top. I also threw in some shrimp and a snail to see if maybe the reason they were dying in the smaller tank was due to a bacterial infection I didn’t catch.
The other three are from my 36 gallon. I got a bunch of otos to help deal with the algae. You can see they’re having no problems with that whatsoever, haha. This is also the only picture I have of the gourami that’s been in my tank for months now. He’s doing well, but he doesn’t come out much unless there’s food.
@imbasicallyashitpostblog said: What tank is this?
just gonna quote you here because I don’t know how to reply to replies on Tumblr still, unless this is how you do it, BUUUTTT it’s a Marineland Contour (Amazon link is for the details, not the price, which is strangely high). They also have the Portrait, which is the same but without the curved glass at the edges. I like it a lot, though I would note that the light strip it comes with is just not that bright. You’ll want to stick with low-light, low-maintenance plants like anubias, java fern, or moss unless you replace the strip with a more powerful one.
