Not gonna lie, these movie spoilers and reactions are cracking me up what with the NH shippers basically telling SS whiners to kiss their ass and deal with the fact that it’s NH-centric. Glad to see there are some NH shippers who don’t automatically sideship SS.

Really though…literally anyone with sense would rather have NH than SS at the forefront, and although I have my problems with NH it certainly sends less of an actively dangerous message (though it’s still pretty sexist in its execution). Kids shouldn’t be shown a romanticized version of a relationship that only happened because Kishi can’t grasp 1) the concept of women not tolerating being treated like shit indefinitely, and 2) the fact that relationships aren’t a one way street. It takes two to tango. You can love a guy and be devoted to him for your whole damn life, but the fact is that if he isn’t into you he’s not going to change his mind (nor is he obligated to), and all you’ve accomplished is wasting years of your time for nothing. Plus he’ll probably ignore your entitled ass in favor of someone who has the capability of standing up for herself and doing other, less desperate things with her life.

tbh Any person over 18 who sincerely thinks this kind of dynamic is cute/romantic/passionate etc. is demented. Y’all don’t even have the excuse of age anymore, it’s just you being drawn into the idiot’s trap of thinking violence and negativity equals passion. Notice Kakashi side-eyeing the hell out of Sakura in chapter 699? He couldn’t even believe this chick’s delusion in wanting to play house with a guy he had to forcibly stop from killing her.

The only healthy canon ending ship is ShikaTema. Everyone saw it coming, and it actually had consistent character development. Plus Temari seems to be one of the few that doesn’t relish being kicked around, stepped over, or cartoonishly devoted to her man, so their relationship automatically wins by a long shot. Temari and Shikamaru were always on pretty equal footing, and you could tell he respected her and her abilities. I’m actually shocked that Kishi managed even that, but he did show his true colors again when we are explicitly shown that Shikamaru is a key political figure; Temari is just…sitting there. For the purpose of letting us know who banged who, like every other woman in the finale. I guess we should be grateful she isn’t cleaning.

Thank gawd Kakashi remained single. Seriously. No wonder his final appearance is essentially him stating the equivalent of “fuck this place, I’m out. I’m on “vacation” and who knows when I’ll be back.”
