I feel as though Sasuke sort of feeds off of Naruto’s love and uses that to torture him, building walls and trying diligently to convince Naruto that he’s indifferent to him. That he cares for no one. But I feel if Naruto ever says “That’s it, Sasuke. I no longer give a fuck. Do whatever you want, because I’m done” and gives up, leaving him finally and utterly alone, he would be completely devastated.
