Another Rise movie animatic. This one was the ending scene but was cut for time and reviewed for something more to the point. Too bad, I cried 10 times doing this.

Another of the clips I’ve taken of the deleted scenes from the 10th anniversary behind the scenes disc! Here’s the armourless Carolina fight, deleted from the end of the Sarcophagus Mission! As they say in the commentary, a lot of the animation itself would later go on to be repurposed into scenes in season 10.

As promised (weeks ago…), here’s a deleted scene from season 3 episode 8, where Soren attempts to repair a burnt bridge.

that whole thing that happens before pepper gets there EXPLAINS why he acted like a big child when pepper got there

And when Pepper admits to being sick, Tony is probably scared for real. His immune system must have been blown to hell what with the reactor itself and now with polladium

Thing is… Tony knew about the poisoning since Iron Man1, the green juice we see DUM-E making? The green juice we see him drinking constantly?

There’s a scene with that same stuff in the first movie.

This just proves that Tony’s been actively searching for replacements since then. Maybe at first as a side project because he was finishing the exoskeleton/armour prototype, because hey he had the time, right? The poisoning wasn’t that urgent!

6-months later (MCU time-wise if I’m not mistaken) we seen this scene.

And I find it interesting that he acts like a child here to distract Pepper from his research, while he keeps her focus on him, he methodically erases all traces of what he was doing. Because he knows that Pepper’s FAR from stupid.

While she might not have the technical knowledge he has, they have spent enough time together that she would have picked up that something wasn’t right. So what does he do? He jokes about the money, he gives away something /she/ cares about to divert her attention from the real issue.

And it works. It fucking works.

I’ve seen a lot of people going ‘oh she should have realised that something was going on’ but Tony didn’t want her to find out. He knew her well enough to push her buttons and push her away from him. He knew how to act so she would focus on SI instead of him.

Tony might have been actively preparing her to take over when he died. Because that rendering? Tony has tested all known elements 3-times over and found nothing. He’s about ready to accept that he will die. He’s arrogant enough to go ‘if I can’t find it no one can, so I might as well keep it under wraps,’ he has given up hope in Iron Man 2.

That movie is Tony going through his list of ‘things to do before I die,’ while being obnoxious with the people he loves so they won’t miss him that much when he dies.

Have I mentioned that Tony’s socially stunted when it comes to relationships? Because he is, and it shows.

actually, adding to what was said: palladium is used in car parts, which explains why he used it in the first place now, if you remember, Tony is seen working on his father’s car in his workshop prior to flying out to Afghanistan, so i find it hard to believe, knowing what he knows about cars, mechanics, etc. that he wouldn’t have known it was a toxic metal, meaning he was aware that it wouldn’t be a long term solution remember, when Rhodey sees it, he says to him, “You had this, inside your body?” Rhodey knows his shit too, I wouldn’t put it past him to have recognized palladium for what it was – he’s the SI liaison, he would know different compounds & their various uses, also, he’s an engineer himself

This is actually heartbreaking when you remember Lilo tells Stitch her parents went for a drive, and the bad weather caused them to crash.

I always thought this scene was adorable

I get the feeling the adults knew…

and now I’m wondering how in the hell Lilo came to the conclusion that there’s a peanut butter loving fish god who demands tribute or else he’ll murder your family. 

When massive trauma hits, some people try to find any way to make sense of what seems senseless. Find any semblance of control, of responsibility. Lilo may be blaming herself (unfairly) for her parents’ death. This was the only connection she could make, the only thing she could have had any control over, so to her it must have been her fault. If only she was a good girl. If only she did the right thing. Then maybe… It’s very very hard to lose a mindset like that even when it’s the most irrational thing, even when it hurts you, because then you’re left with nothing.

And when you’re six your pattern recognition skills are a work in progress. Lilo sees that type of fish one day and as it swims away it starts to rain; connection made.

“Lilo may be blaming herself (unfairly) for her parents’ death. This was the only connection she could make, the only thing she could have had any control over, so to her it must have been her fault. If only she was a good girl. If only she did the right thing. Then maybe… “

This movie had some of the best scenes cut out of it. 

This is one of my favourite movies yet somehow I never saw this deleted scene…. Excuse me a second…

This kinda explains why she had such a sudden, violent reaction when the other girl called her weird.

(And off topic but I just wanna say how “You’re weird” got me so pissed. Like she’s six you little brat, she’s allowed to have an imagination. Don’t be a buzzkill.)
