Hey, hope this isn't weird, but you once said that to "DO ANIMATICS BADLY! JUST DO IT!" or something along those lines awhile ago. Anyways, I finally actually made one today. It's rushed, it's pretty crappy, but it filled me with such excitement to see the scribbles I made move in time to the music. Anyways, just wanted to say thank you because your little statement became a little line of mental encouragement for me to actually just do it. So thank you! Have an amazing rest of your day.

Out of pure curiousity you mentioned once that you were thinking of maybe some sort of sequelish thing to MoM- is that still something you have as a potential project or is the book closed on MoM? No pressure either way, I'm just curious because in my opinion MoM has one of those perfect endings that makes you wish the journey was longer just because you weren't ready to say goodbye and the idea of more MoM maybe even more then Actually Having More MoM interests me

It has come to my attention that I have newer followers who were unaware of my Red vs Blue fixation phase. For those people, here's a link to the fic in question: Mind over Matter on Ao3

The book is almost certainly closed on that, my fixations have moved on and I agree with you about the ending being this bittersweet balance of wanting more but not quite being willing to risk how well the landing stuck. but I had two ideas, one for a companion and one for a sequel.

So I went to an art exhibit recently, a collection of Native American art from pre-colonial times to the present. As you might guess, there were a few pieces whose artist was lost to time or erased. But instead of the usual “artist unknown” credit, the curators instead chose to label the artists as “Name Once Known”.

I think that’s amazing. It says, “we don’t know your name any longer; we’ll never know who you were, exactly. But you were a person once, and you mattered. You had a name, and you were loved, you had a life, and you made this art. And that means something. Your name was once known.”

Your Super Smash Oak animantic makes me both sob and unbelievably happy at the same time. If you could in this moment, what kinda animantic would you make now? Another Oak one?

oh gosh at the moment I'm toying in my head with a Fetch Quest OP cause the theme song is such a banger. I'm practicing something with the dogs already, I should be better about sharing

I've had something pending for Measure Once Cut Twice for quite a while, but school threw me off my rhythm. I have almost a full minute of it finished

For the Oaks, I'd love to do something to Karma by AJR. for the Closes, I'll Be Home for Christmas

honestly I've had a TMA wip since like. January.

honestly something Star Wars is the real dream.

Oh! and then my own magical girl-inspired thing. wanna make a bunch of shorts for that.

Eternals definitely has issues but they do actually play the family angle, even though there are I think two couples within the group. I think it does a good job balancing a large cast tbf, even if the writing drags a bit in places.

I have no way of knowing if you're the same anon, but I'll answer both at once

That's good to hear, at least, with Eternals! I do love family stuff

re #2: I'm not trying to judge it based on being part of the MCU, and especially not off of Endgame. (Endgame had a lot of show and did a fantastic job in many areas to do the job it did, but it's not on my top MCU movies list) Shang Chi didn't have to be an MCU movie for me to have really enjoyed it. I love Shang Chi. I'm practically vibrating for it to be on Disney+ so I can watch it again. I love it for the complex family dynamic, the excellent characters, the cool mythos, and the sick fight scenes. I would have wanted to see Shang Chi MCU or not.

It's just with Eternals I don't think I would be seeing it if it wasn't an MCU movie that I feel like I need to tick off the list so I can have an opinion. It just doesn't really have my attention. And that's fine, every movie can't be for everyone

I understand and apologize. I did not realize that I had been sending asks that many times. I will decline from doing so in the future. I did not mean to bother you.

Thank you for understanding and for the apology <3 I really do wish you well

anon submission:

1.) Do you have any RvB oc’s?

2.) Quick! Give every main RvB character (Reds, Blues, Freelancers, Locus, Shatter Squad, etc) and any of your oc’s a unique power a la RWBY/MHA!

ur rvb0 thoughts were really interesting! do u have any thoughts about its cinematography/atmosphere? I personally found it too, like... clean? polished?

thank you! and sorry I took so long to respond!

The way you worded that really does strike a chord with me, because it made me realize just how quickly all the settings in the show go by. There’s a kind of lack of personalization or over-familiarity between the characters and the settings. Basically, none of the places felt like the characters really lived there? This is, of course, coming from someone who hasn’t watched the show in 6 months and only watched it once, but other than the training room there aren’t really any locations in the show that I could put a name to. There’s “place where x happened” or “place where y happened”.

My viewpoint is also contrasted by the fact that I’ve been watching Star Wars Rebels (for the first time, no spoilers please) and their ship, the Ghost, is so lovingly designed and personalized, I feel like I could wander it like it’s a real place. Not just because of the paint and moded cockpit chairs and funky couches. There’s a certain weight to pretty much every location. Time spent in them and how they interact with the scenery matters. They aren’t just backgrounds, most of the time they’re downright jungle gyms.

I disclaimer all of this with: I do not know what it takes to design and render 3D spaces and what kind of pipeline--and inter-team communication--is required to successfully give your writers free reign over the scenery as well as the characters. Even in-animate 3D models that are going to move need rigs and stuff

tl;dr that’s a super good point and I agree

So. Mha. That new villain lady. We've seen her hack a high-tech prison cell eith a touch and now we've seen her make a rifle outta her elbow. (And I heard chaoter 312 will show a flashback to Snipe saying his aim is second only to hers? I might be wrong.) So, whaddya think her quirk is?

I’m kinda late to this ask, cause 312 is out in English now (I avoid spoilers before the english chapters drop) so answering this would be kinda redundant maybe but I do wanna say boy I’m psyched to see where she’s going around here

Thoughts on Monsterverse? In chronological order, there's Kong Skull Island, Godzilla (2014), Godzilla King of Monsters, and Godzilla vs Kong (just saw that last one at theaters with friends tonight, first time we've been at theaters since before quarantine, it was awesome, I love this series!).

I have only seen Skull Island and Godzilla vs Kong (the last 2/3rds) courtesy of my friend group. I don’t really have anything to say about the thing as a whole? other than I guess it’s rad to make a string of movies where the central thing is just kaijus getting into action scenes. Skull Island’s color direction was stunning and the hype of being a bunch of friends watching a giant gorilla suplex a giant radiation lizard is fantastic. I don’t think I would have watched it by myself, but it was a lot of fun.

Thoughts on RvB Zero (and how you would change it)?

Mostly positive! Honestly my main problems with it mostly involve respect for past characters and it’s inability to keep me invested after I finished it, despite the leftover threads. I only watched through it the one time, so I can’t go into huge re-write details or anything, but the short version of my change suggestions boils down to two steps:

1) file off the RvB serial numbers, because the name and branding didn’t add anything to the plot. If anything, two of the biggest contention points I’ve seen with the season--Wash’s gloss-over and Tucker’s death fake-out--come directly from trying to connect it directly to RvB. And those connections already aren’t strong enough to change the plot in any way by replacing them with OCs or writing out the roles entirely. Even Carolina could just be Badass Mentor Woman. I remember some implication on her connecting to the characters based on her own experience, but it wasn’t really explicit enough to add anything.

2) (disclaimer: this relies entirely on time and budget constraints) add an extra episode (or even half an episode) for each main character, elaborating on them and their relationships with the others. By the time in the plot that we’re supposed to care about their interpersonal relationships, we barely knew who any of them were before the conflict.

That’s pretty much it? I have some personal preference remarks on the fight scenes, but I think with these two thing I might have even still been thinking about this season. Gosh has it been half a year already? dang.

None of the characters shown in the taz trailer are player characters, Justin tweeted about it! Hopefully they’ll still show up as npcs

Are you from Oklahoma? I am also from Oklahoma and yikes how’s we get here

my dude that is literally the question

what is it with Oklahoma and 50% of the population being like, without prompting, “how the heck did I get here”. My family moved from Ohio, which is it’s own thing, but like... Oklahoma?????
