adding on to my previous post

every single time wolverine opens up and lets someone in they die

whether it be the family in the movie Logan who accepted his “mute” daughter and his sick “father” into their homes with no judgement or the older couple who saw a glimpse of their son in the crazed, naked man in X-Men Origins— Logan was hesitant to accept their help. With age it got more difficult— he tried his best to refuse and failed only because Charles begged for him to relax just for a moment. And both times it ended with everyone around him dying.

as Logan walks through Wade’s front door he doesn’t share the look of concern as he wore in the past movies. He looks content. Because for once in his life he’s found someone who also can’t fucking die. He found someone who, even if he does get shot or stabbed, will get back up and be by Logan’s side once again. And I think that’s so cute.

but what if I rewrote Arthur in space. what if Arthur and Lancelot retained memories of a hauntingly different life. what if Lancelot is basically like, if you die again, imma destroy the universe about it. what then.

what if Lancelot didn't fall in love with Gwenivere because he's already been warned off by, oh, memories of Arthur lying dead in his arms. what if the forces of good cannot always defeat the forces of evil, but evil never wins anyway.
