I still sometimes think about that person that followed me a long time ago that was like “dni if you’re aromantic. I don’t respect aromantic people because I don’t believe romance is real and is only used to hold up toxic nuclear values and by identifying as aromantic you are upholding that belief.”
And it wasn’t about anyone who identifies as anything “-romantic” it was specifically ONLY about aromantic people.
Like lol what. I actually think a LOT of self-identified aromantic people don’t believe that romance is “real”…like actually we’re the LEAST likely group to believe that romance is real….like that’s not what that label means…. Just say you hate yourself and go lol?

Muhammad and Mona are a young family with two beautiful daughters, 6 year old Iman and 5 year old Toleen. i have been keeping in contact with Mona on whatsapp for a while and the things she tells me are beyond horror. there are rumors of the border crossing opening soon, so they need funds for that (30,000$ for all 4 members of the family), but even more urgently - funds to just survive.
Iman and Toleen, these vibrant, fun-loving little girls are forced to go through WINTER in a thin, nylon tent with a torn roof! the outrageous prices of any clothes at all leave the sisters sharing a single pair of torn slippers. and somehow, their parents still need to buy food.
this campaign is stagnating, and the goal is a very achievable one. even if all of my followers donated 10 dollars, they would be set!
currently they need around a 1500$ for a new tent, and around 1000$ for winter clothes for the girls.
and if you want, please message Mona and Muhammad on their blog, @monamohammed3they feel extremely alone and forgotten by the world. if you could provide them with the support, monetary as well as moral, they would appreciate that immensely.

Just today I got to see a chess book that I remember reading as a little kid. While it didn't give me a lifelong passion for chess, it did give me a lifelong passion for fantasy for its artwork.
The book is "Chess for Young Beginners" from 1975, and here's some of the artwork:
Like, this artwork goes hard. I especially appreciate the colour scheme for the black pieces, with its browns, bronzes, reds and oranges.
This artwork is amazing, evocative, exciting and dramatic. I recommend giving it a look if you have a chance - you can probably scrounge up a PDF of this thing with a bit of searching.

i reported basically every Star Trek show on Paramount+ because the subtitles were all fucked up. they sent me auto emails to let me know they were working on it, and then a real life human being got in touch with me after they had fixed it, to ask if i was still experiencing the issue. they WILL do something, they are required by FEDERAL LAW to do something.
